OSU, KSU, TCU, Texas Tech and KU are today, so if you see anything fun on them, put it here (OU is tomorrow)

Here's an assemblage of tweets. (http://www.tulsaworld.com/article.aspx/Live_updates_from_Big_12_media_days/20130722_298_0_citsct249781)

More in the name of safety (http://www.star-telegram.com/2013/07/22/5018293/big-12-media-days-teams-to-be.html)

DALLAS — Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby announced that all league teams will be outfitted with computer chips in their shoulder pads to monitor velocity and impact, although he’s unsure how the information will be used in the future.

Other-game highlights coming to Big 12 stadiums (http://newsok.com/big-12-football-other-game-highlights-coming-to-stadiums/article/3864681)

Big 12 commission Bob Bowlsby said stadiums will show close-to-real-time highlights during timeouts, trying to enhance the experience of the paying customer.

“We feel like our attendance has remained relatively strong,” Bowlsby said Monday to kick off Big 12 Media Days, saying the conference has played to 85 percent capacity. “But nationwide, we’re seeing … numbers declining.

“I think bringing highlights in will take into account and help one of the things that is getting to be a challenge for us.”

Charlie Weis earns $2 million annually by throwing team under the bus (http://www.tulsaworld.com/blogs/post.aspx/Did_Charlie_Weis_unload_on_his_own_players_Oh_yeah/12-21344)

"We're 1-11 and picked by everybody to finish last in the league, and that's justifiable. If I were you, I'd pick us in the same spot. We've given you no evidence or no reason to be picked anywhere other than that. I told our players and told our coaching staff that, until they start winning some games in the conference, that's just the way it's going to be."

AND...

He says he puts it this way to the typical high school recruit, referring to players already in the program: "Have you looked at that pile of crap out there? Have you taken a look at that? So if you don't think you can play here, where do you think you can play?

Also, Gundy's trying to hide who will start at QB against Miss State (http://www.tulsaworld.com/article.aspx/OSUs_Gundy_addresses_starting_quarterback_playing_ an/20130722_93_0_DLAept965843)

“We won't say much until after the first game,” Gundy said at Big 12 Media Days on Monday morning. “We play a very quality opponent the first game, so we'll need to use every advantage we have to give ourselves the best opportunity to win that game.”

“The heights Coach (Mike) Leach took that program, that's hard to repeat. That's something that had never been done out there. But we're excited about our group. I think last year they were 8-5 and definitely have lots of room for improvement. It's not like we're coming to a program that's broke.”

So Weiss just called his whole team a pile of crap. That should help team morale.

Mack done. Talking how uptempo impacted Texas defense and the rest of the Big 12. Blamed the lack of running game and pass-happiness for losing the championship game against Bammer (said they had two 100-yd rushers, while they had to deal with an inexperienced QB without a running game to help him out).

Big 12 chick now talking to Jackson Jeffcoat (once recruited by OU, twin sister once played for Sherri before transferring)

I would guess he's an expert on that subject.

I hope some media reports what Dana said about Nick Saban et al complaining that uptempo causes injuries. In a nutshell, it was "get over it" :)

EDIT: Here ya go (http://www.tulsaworld.com/article.aspx/Holgorsen_to_Saban_Bielema_Get_over_it/20130723_231_0_DALLAS769215?subj=298)

“Yeah, I'd tell (them) to get over it because it's not going to change. It's going into the NFL, for crying out loud. There's people being hired in the NFL that have the background in college football to be able to create a little bit more parity. Don't see it changing any time soon, so you'd better learn to adapt to it.”

Gem from Mack: (http://newsok.com/big-12-football-can-david-ash-duplicate-vince-young-or-colt-mccoy/article/3865022)

“Vince and Colt won a lot of football games,” Brown said. “Vince was 30-2 and Colt was 45-9 (actually eight). That’s a load. But that’s our expectation for David. He’s learned a lot. He’s really grown up. There were times he looked like Colt and looked like Vince. There were times when he struggled.

“I thought his comeback in the Alamo Bowl really, really helped him with our team. I think he’ll have a big year.”
Meanwhile, Houston Chron is showing the David Ash we know and love (http://blog.chron.com/chickenfriedsportsdom/2013/07/perhaps-macks-last-ut-stand-starts-wednesday-in-houston/) (while proclaiming the end of Mack):

Baylor's Art Briles is one bold son of a gun. Saying Baylor will be "formidable", with a straight face, and with no resulting laughter. Strange times we live in.

I doubt that God can save a hooker from one Craig James who may have(or not) killed five hookers!

Amazing! You'd think that for $2M, KU could find someone better than this!

He looks kinda sickly to me. Maybe it's finally sunk in that he is the head coach of Tech.
