how does one obtain citizenship illegally?Technicallly you are right. The amnesty program involves breaking the law intitially then waiting for opportunistic or spineless politicians to change the laws. Wa-La....you are no longer illegal.

you don't think Lupe wouldn't just walk down the to the US consulate in Tijuana and do it legally if that was an option?

The US gave 1.2 million lupes citizenship last year....far more any than other country in the world. How many lupes do we need each year?

Actually Juan corrected me and ONLY 3/4 of a million people were naturalized last year...which has been the average for the last several years.

Don't know how long it took...probably a decade. Is there another country that is anywhere close to 3/4 million people a year?

But a large segment of our immigrants citizens are through family reunification. I want legal immigration but I want the best and brightest to at least balance our unskilled poorly educated immigrants.

Unfortunately that is not the case.
