Don't really fall in any of the categories. I was weaned on fresh-brewed unsweetened iced tea.

Drank milk all the time as a kid, still do a lot as an adult.

When my youngest son old enough to drink out of a cup, he wanted milk. He drank it like crazy (we went through probably 6 gallons a week). My youngest son hates it. He will drink chocolate milk if he has to, but would just as soon not touch the stuff. Not sure how that happened.

My house is a no surgary drink household. Diet Coke is my vice, so that's always around, but very rarely is there anything with sugar. Of course, my boys both want it, I just don't provide it often.

i didn't like most milk. it had to be FRESH and cold for me to drink it. not quite as bad when chocolate or in cereal. only really liked milk with Oreos or chocolate chip cookies anyway. i generally never wanted to drink it with a meal. now i generally only buy coconut or almond milk for cereal.

I drank milk every day. Four glasses a day as a point of fact. Haven't had a glass since 1988.

My oldest would go for Milk, which he does just about all the time anyway. My youngest would go for water. He'd rather have tea, but he will drink water too.

Count me in as one who loved milk growing up and who still loves it.

My mom forced us to drink it growing up. When I turned sixteen she let me choose. I haven't had a glass since. I still cook with it, though.

When mom went to the commissary she'd bring home enough half-gallons of milk to fill the top shelf of the fridge. Probably 10-15 of them. We drank it all the time. Never had any kind of soda in the house until I was maybe 12 or so. Then she started bringing home Tab and Fresca; but we couldn't touch it cause it was "diet drink." My brother got his *** whooped bad for stealing a Tab one time. The first time I remember drinking a soda I was probably 10 or so and we were in Nogales, Mexico. One of those little 7 ounce Cokes. Best thing I ever tasted.

When I was a pothead, I had a routine on Friday/Saturday nights. I'd take a big ol' glass of milk, put it in the freezer, then go outside and smoke a doob. I'd come in, build a couple peanut butter and pickle/jelly/banana (not all together, but 1 of the 3) sammiches, turn on Don Kirshner's Rock Concert or Midnight Special and rock/pig out. Just about the time I was choking on the peanut butter/cotton mouth I'd get that ice-cold glass of milk out and chug it. Best brain freeze ever.

Nowdays, I'll drink it maybe once/twice a week. Breakfast only. Skim. Braum's skim. Yes, I still have all my teeth, and I've never taken a Viagra in my life.

Another thing I remember. The rich neighbors across the street had their milk delivered to the doorstep. Shamrock dairy truck would pull up and pick up the empty glass jars and leave full ones. This was in Tucson, and it'd be over 100 degrees out by 10 am. It's a wonder none of them died from botulism or something.

Parents and grandparents were very much you-drink-your-milk people when I was little. I really, really preferred soda if they let me, though. If we were eating fast food and the soda was self-serve (not as common then as it is now), I'd fill it with a little bit of each... actually not as gross as it sounds! :)

I remember the first fast-food I ever had. It was on my 6th birthday. We had just moved to Tucson from France, and the house wasn't quite ready to move in so we went to a hotel. Dad bought burgers and fries from the Burger Chef. Us kids thought it was the coolest thing ever. Didn't have it again for probably 5+ years. Granny died, and mom was too busy to cook so she sent me and my brother to Sandy's with a single dollar. We each got a burger, fries, and a coke and still had a couple pennies left for gum at the Circle K.

The next time I ate it I was about 14 and our church youth group all went to an A&W Rootbeer stand and we all got burgers, fries, and root beer. I never had a McDonald's until I was in the Army.

I just googled Sandy's and Burger Chef. Both of them sold out to Hardees. I never heard of Hardees till I moved to OK.

It's basically the Carl's Jr of Wisconsin. When I moved down here I was like "Why is Hardees called Carl's Jr?"

And that damn star mascot during the fan kick and football games. Lol

I drink a half gallon of milk per day.

In high school I drank a gallon per day.

One of nature's most perfect foods, next to honey.

Almost always had a glass or two of milk with dinner every night growing up. Then of course would have the little milk cartons at school for lunch. Don't drink it as much any more, but do still enjoy a glass with a few cookies or bowl of cereal.

I think I remember hearing that one of the most recent evolutionary developments of the human species has been the ability to consume milk after being weaned off mother's milk. When you think about it, most mammals drop the habit after a few weeks/months and become lactose intolerant.

I drank nothing but pop growing up. Truly.

And I turned out fine. I'm a 5'4" 105lbs Type-I diabetic...a perfect specimen of man.

Interestingly, adult lactose tolerance seems to have evolved at about the same time as the ability to successfully metabolize alcohol. Right now, the belief is that both arose in Southern Turkey and are tied to the development of year 'round villages, animal husbandry and farming.

It makes my heart swell with pride to know that, just as soon as humankind got the food problem taken care of we used our first leisure time to brew grog and threw a party. In fact, it makes me so happy that I think I'll go have a drink here in about an hour.

For both of my boys, we had mile delivered. In fact, the dairy still delivers door-to-door today. Not sure about Arizona, but here you could get an insulated box that they would leave the milk in, which did a pretty damn good job of keeping it cold. They also delivered fresh OJ and of course chocolate milk. That was the best milk I've ever had, but it was pricey (I'm sure it still is).
