The UN Ambassadorship doesn't amount to much truth be told. She just as bad as Bolton.

There aint a prez anywhere that wouldn't do exactly the same
thing that Obama is doing. W, his dad, RR, Clinton. Actually,
what's fun about this is that ALL the Pubs are gonna get exercised
and do what they've been doing and, there's not gonna be one
dayum thing accomplished cause they're all upset about Obama's IN
YOUR FACE. These obstructionists all got it coming. Gotta say, I hate
this approach, much rather see people getting along and solving all
this stuff that needs to be solved, but, IMO, Obama is sayin'. "rise
above it, Pubs, show me!"

Rise above what? Rise above everyone connected to Obama lying thru their teeth?

Naw, man, what I think he's sayin is let's work together and
show me if you can. Absolutely, he's sayin I'm gonna be way
left, can you come to me and say that we should get somewhere
close to the middle? IMO, he's giving to the Pubs what they have
been giving him since about half way through his first term...now
you can't say that isn't true. He's got nothing to lose but the Pubs
do. They should show they're "bigger" than this. Know what, my
bet is that they won't and it'll hurt in 2014...jus sayin...

Sounds like a good plan. Bush the first fell for it with the Democratic congress.

Obama has nothing to lose?? Obama MUST win the House back in 2014 or his second term is already over. He does not know how to compromise, he never has, so he must win the House and keep the Senate.

Obama has much to lose and probably will.

This hurts to say but no matter what Obama does in the next
year it's going to be hard to hold the Senate. The Dems are
defending something like four times as many seats as the Pubs
and several of those are in red states. As to the House, tough
chore there, too. Tea Partiers are more prevalent and that's
the Dems best chance. IMO, TPers are wearing thin on a lot
of mainstream Pubs and they keep trotting out nutcases to run
for office.

Couple of interesting reads over at The National Interest.

A realists perspective

http://nationalinterest.org/blog/jacob-heilbrunn/the-rise-susan-rice-samantha-power-8553

A neoconservative

http://nationalinterest.org/commentary/rice-power-obamas-vindictiveness-8562

I tend to lean more towards Mr. Heilbrunn's article. I certainly hope it is not indicative that the direction this administration wants to go is toward more intervention. Surely the abject failure of Iraq and Afghanistan and the blowback from Libya has taught us some lessons on the limits of power.

Republicans will keep the House thru 2022, due to their control of state legislatures in 2010 and the resultant gerrymandered House districts.

A Democrat will win the White House in 2016 and 2020. So we have divided government for at least another decade. Great news if you're a conservative who doesn't want change.

I put forth the gerrymandering idea in another thread sometime
back and most Pubs disagreed. When a Dem wins in 2016 then a lot
of downticket candidates will follow her lead...

I agree with part of it, all the prez's do it...I also wish they would ACTUALLY look for the best qualified person, but partisanship is what makes the world go round. I hope obama keeps saying in your face, I think the American public will get tired. Not sure how the low-knowledge voters will turn out for the '14 election....since they really don't know how it all works...and they got their guy in the White House. Sure obama's campaign corporation will be in full force. We will see.
