Are you from here? Thanks for the warning but most Oklahomans are used to this.

Born and raised in OK...your point about being used to it reminds me
of the stories I heard about Joplin and how three or four warnings came
up empty but, when the big one happened.....just wanted to throw my
two cent warning into the mix....

Good wishes accepted and, after the last week or so, overreaction is warranted.

On the other hand, I had to laugh when my sister in Florida called and was worried. I told her that I was watching local weather and that we were fine. She then announced, "Well, that's not what MSNBC is saying" in a tone of dismissal. I then informed her that the merest weather department intern at the lowliest Oklahoma teevee station is more competent than whoever runs MSNBC's weather group. I don't know what she said next because about that time my mom took the phone away from me. Sibling relations! They just go on and on gettting better and better!

Remember once as a boy living on an oil lease east of Wilson
had some storms...watched a tornado go thru the countryside
northwest of my house then a little later picked up softball sized
hail out in my back yard....nasty stuff...

you guys out west might get a little bit further outta drought after this one.

i noticed that this is more of a three-day event than a "this night only" thing. Nearly 6 inches of rain in NE Okla/Arkie/Miz? whoa. too bad they can't share with the panhandle

Skiatook Lake will end up being only 5-6' low after that...

The entire state of Iowa is on either flash flood alerts or flood
warnings. Here at my house we've gotten over 6 inches of
rain in the last 10 days or so (I'm not in a flood plain) and over
9 inches in May...
