Once again, I am sometimes perplexed by decisions made by the state Democrats compared to the state Republicans. Republicans elect the first-ever female governor, former OU quarterback and national convention speaker JC Watts to Congress, and appoint TW Shannon as the first-ever black (and also has Native American heritage too) Speaker of the House. Speaking of Native Americans, Tom Cole is one of the few (if not only) Native American members of Congress.
