I'm guessing she saw the handwriting on the wall. She had her best team this year and was mediocre. Loss of many seniors will surely result in a worse season next year and she probably doesn't think she'll last past next year. Tech fans really have never warmed up to her much. Leaving for an Alabama program that would be annually at the bottom of the Big 12 (think MIZ...ZOU before leaving Big 12!) pretty much says it all. Their best player at Alabama is transferring as well so expectations will be minimal, at best. Tech fans are delusional on who they can get for her replacement! See link.

Definitely a case of getting out in front of the posse. Like TY said, it was her best team this year and they still did a belly flop at the end of the season. It'll be interesting who they can get. Nobody has been hurt more by OU's resurgance under Sherri Coale than Texas Tech -- you can see their slide coincides with OU's rise. Would seem to be much more than coincidental.

She took that program as far as she could. She wasn't ever going to get it up to OU heights, or even the success that it once saw with some chick named Sheryl Swoopes.

Tech is really at risk of becoming 100 percent mediocre, across the board. After Bobby Knight retired, they lost any semblance of mens basketball. After they kicked Mike Leach to the curb, there was some hopey changey stuff afoot with the hiring of Tommy Tubby, but I think we all see how well that worked out for them.

And womens basketball... if last year was the best they could do, then sorry, but it's time to find a new job in a new conference.

Will Tech ever be good at anything ever again? Or will it just be a place where you better stay close to a campus building, lest you get caught in a dust storm outside
