My Baofeng UV-5rc arrived yesterday, and I've been monkeying around with it. I've connected to some of the local repeaters in my area, but I haven't broadcast for obvious reasons.
Anywhoo, I haven't been able to pick up the local police frequencies. I don't know if they've encrypted their broadcasts or what; however, I can pick up all of the local EMT dispatches. I've listened to that for about a day now and come to the conclusion that 90% of ambulance calls are to nursing homes.
Also, Muskogeeites have a LOT of heart attacks every day.
