"I know nothink" Definitely Hogan's Heroes!

Westerns...kinda picky...The early Gunsmokes..with Dennis Weaver (Sooner track guy),
Bonanza when Pernell Roberts was still on it, Rawhide...fun to watch now
and see how many actors went on to greater things...

I'm laid up due to acl..old man playing bball..lol.

SO I've had all kinds of time..ugh. It's really surreal to read about all these actors that you identified with as a kid that are now dead and IF they were alive they'd be about 90-100 yrs old. Just makes me realize I'm on top of the mountain and headed down...but I'm going to enjoy the ride down as much as possible.

The Andy Griffith Show was the family fave. Beverly Hillbillies also.

In No order:
* = was on the air longer than it should have been

MASH *They looked like geezers when the show ended
Seinfeld - Great writing- almost went on for too long. 2nd to last season was not good
Cheers *
All In The Family* - I only say this because I am lumping it with Archie's Place
The Job - Only on for one year :(
Mary Tyler Moore
Dick Van Dyke
Leave It To Beaver
I Dream of Jeannie
Taxi
Family Ties * - They added the cute child to spruce things up ala Cousin Oliver - then they started the heavy teen issues subjects- meh
Andy Griffith Show
Married With Children * - Added a cute kid -then, meh
The Simpsons *- I love the first 6-7 seasons of this show, today it just isn't as funny
Cosby Show *- Cute kid SYNDROME strikes again!

I grew up on the reruns of the late '50s to early '70s sitcoms - the stuff that WTBS used to play.

I also watched a lot of '80s era sitcoms. I didn't know it at the time but those really sucked. They definitely haven't stood up to time. Cheers is a big exception of course.

Mary Anne?

Or Ginger?

It's a telling question and one that reveals much about one's outlook on life.

I'd advise, "Both. On a sheet of visqueen. With a tub of Crisco close at hand."

Mary Anne in a heartbeat assuming both isn't a valid option.

Yknow, I'm basically with you on that one. But there are times when a woman who can teach you tricks is just what the doctor ordered. And, for that, Ginger had a certain glint in her eye that just yelled 'teacher'.

For me, Seinfeld still stands the test of time. Find myself laughing at reruns that I've seen I don't know how many times.

Married with Children was also pretty genius. Al Bundy has to be up there with all-time great TV characters.

Did anyone mention I Love Lucy?

Not sure it qualifies as a Sit-Com, but I loved the old Three Stooges shorts too.

KantoSooner
5/7/2013, 11:29 AM
It wasn't a sitcom, at least not intentionally, but Hawaii 5-0's "Book 'em, Dan-o" has to be the greatest single line in television history.
That and McGarret's hair as he whipped around to face the camera during the intro
or the atomic bongo intro music with that big wave in the background.

There was an era when the reruns came on at midnight and it was sacrilege to not time the popping of beers and the striking of lighters to coincide with the swelling brass of that song....

...McGarret's hair as he whipped around to face the camera during the intro
....I have always thought David Caruso on CSI Miami was sorta mimicking SOMEBODY.

KantoSooner
5/7/2013, 02:48 PM
David Caruso is fun to watch, but Jack Lord was THE MAN.
*** kicking was his specialty.
Name taking? He left that to Dan-o and the other white boys. "Book 'em Dan-o, don't bother me with the details. You pick the charge, we'll make it stick. Just make sure it's 'Murder One'."
Him and Kono, when it came time for somebody else to do some hurtin'.
And so smooth with the ladies that all he ever had to do was give 'em his little contemptuous smirk, fix 'em with that intense look and they'd melt.
Brilcream stock dropped 40 points the day he hung up his skinny leg navy blue suit.

The first 5-6 years of Newhart was awesome, too.

Although, the first year was crappy due to them shooting it on video. Early 80's video was horrible.

I am referring to Vermont Newhart, not the Chicago one.
