Most intelligent leaders understand that without secure borders you have no national security.

Well, she conveniently forgets to mention that Mexico allows most any U.S. citizen into the country without a visa.

not much Michele Malkin says is interesting.

Most nations are pretty laid back about their borders unless theres a big illegal immigration problem and you're ethnically part of the group who's sneaking in.

I've had the experience of turning up on the wrong country's beach when sailing a couple of times. Response? They told me to go talk with the police and let them know I was in town. (Thailand). Or, asked me to contact the police and let them know I was in town after I'd had a chance for a shower. (China). Or, bought me a beer and called the police to come over to the bar and talk with me. (Malaysia)

The whole concept of every country but ours is ringed by barbed wire and machine gun towers is bogus.
