It would be more interesting than most of these reality shows.

So the burden of proof is on the skeptic's position, and not his.

There would be no winner. The debate would go on forever. The story goes that there was one man, Adam. And from his rib was creatred one woman, Eve. The Hebrew word for man (mankind) is Adam. And the Hebrew word for woman is Eve. I say that there were more than just one Adam and one Eve.

Archeologists have found what they called Mitochondrial Eve (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitochondrial_Eve). Believed to have lived about 200,000 years ago.

Of course we all know that Mitochondrial Eve is just a human/cylon hybrid.

Bill Maher should show up soon to offer 20K if he can prove there were talking snakes and women made out of ribs. Maybe 50K if he can prove Jesus ever walked the earth?

I was going to say SSDD until I read the article. I knew it had to have come from the previous Life Science Challenge.

Just another attempt to confuse people.

Besides the biblical evidence. There is also historical evidence that Jesus did exist (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Existence_of_Jesus). So Maher may lose that one.

So the burden of proof is on the skeptic's position, and not his.

Exactly. He just wants to point out publicly that he can't be proven wrong. With the current knowledge and hard evidence we have, the "court" would play out the same way for either side. Common sense tells us one is much more likely than the other, but common sense is a rare commodity.

I do believe that, at some point, we can put all this religion nonsense to rest and we'll look back on it as we do medieval witch-burning now. I don't think it will be during my lifetime though.

Totally my non-judgemental opinion.
