I am sure someone else has taken credit for my brief moment of cleverness, but after watching it the Sunday before last, NP noted that the stories they tell seem to minimize the religiousness and focus on the characters instead.

Clever badger: That's why they call it "The Bible" instead of "The Holy Bible."

As for the Satan/Obama controversy, if he's portrayed by a human actor, he has to look like someone. The fact that he has a very slight resemblance to our president? Meh.

I think it's fair to expect someone to take their religious beliefs seriously :)

you and others, dear.

i don't expect this show to retain its viewership, because the acting and playing out of biblical stories is just like you see in those VHS/DVDs that your church basement has stored up to till in for Sunday School teachers that unexpectedly took the week off.

this is not some epic show that is going to get acting/special effects/directing/producing/??? emmy awards.

Vikings, on the other hand, looked cool, based on the one episode that i saw.

One of my coworkers has come to the conclusion from it being his favorite show "from a comedy standpoint" that what the show's interpretation is that all women are whores. or at least any women significant to the progression of the bible are whores.

Yes, and John the Baptist is sporting dreads or was till his untimely demise.
