Who invited all the Chicken Littles to the party? The Big Dance sky is not falling. Iowa State has been a poor road team all year, and they are also recovering from a crushing loss this week as well. Even if we lose another in the reg season, our conference record will be 11 wins 7 loses. In the past, a winning record in the Big 12 is all but a lock. RPI and SOS has already been mentioned, so we are still in great shape to make the tourney.

That being said, I hope Lon holds a few "spirited" practices the next few days because if we can't handle a press better than a middle school team we've just given the rest of our schedule the golden ticket

During the game someone posted (I didn't get to watch) that they guys on the bench were laughing because the ut fans were leaving and booing...I'm think this was around the 7/8 min mark when ut made their run.

I posted that was uncalled for...sometimes karma has a way of biten ya back.

You can be excited about a dunk or great shot, some great D...but always make it about yourself. I'm sure the guys thought it was in the bag, they couldn't miss.

I still think OU is in barring a total meltdown. This is a good learning tool, never take your hot shooting for granted, it can get ice cold real quick.

It was actually 7:38 when OU was up 68-45. This is a huge loss. Anybody that thinks this doesn't severely hurt their NCAA chances is in denial. Oh well, just 1 more week until rowing season and there is always the softball and baseball teams although Golloways teams seem to have the mental makeup that the basketball team has displayed at critical times this year.

Wish I had a clue what this meant. Won't ask because I'm afraid the answer will make me bleed brain cells.

The thing that gets me is how passive we were when trying to break the press. It was like we were scared to break it and when you don't attack it you play into the other team's hands.

Then once the press was broken we didn't make them pay. I understand when we had a 15 point lead you pull out and try to eat the clock but IMO when it gets down to 4 or 5 points you have to punish them for pressing. We had that two on one break and I believe the score was under 5 points and we pulled it out as if we're still in eat the clock mode. You just can't do that.

If you don't make a team pay for pressing they'll do it all day long.

It was hard to watch the finish but we have had trouble with the full court press all year. Baylor almost did the same thing to us in Waco and osu in Norman. That seems to be one area where coaching isn't getting it done.
I agree that we are in the tournament barring a total meltdown.

Not only was it to texas, but the fact that we had a 22 point lead and blew it made me sick.

I really hope this loss doesn't cost us a tourney spot, and there is no question that the iowa State game is almost a must-win now.

Beat ISU, and win out, we're in. Lose to ISU, then our boys have to make a deep run in the conference tournament. Lose to ISU and anyone else, NIT here we come.

This, though I am with Blue in that I couldn't really care less if PC got a running start & jumped in the lake. I'm not really a big hot dog/celebration guy (i.e. Barry Sanders & Q were my favorite end zone celebrations) but if you're going to do it, you make dang sure you're doing it with the game won, especially a road game. UT (both team & crowd) was flat out DOA until they got some incentive to wake up.

Give me a break. In the RRS, we do the down horns after pretty much every touchdown. What fueled the comeback was we couldn't get the ball across mid-court against their press.

First I'm as far from PC as anyone else...but as someone who has had the great opportunity to coach (just hs) I could care less about any celebration until the horn sounded, especially on their floor. I had no problem with OU cutting the nets down at ku..although the ku fans thought it was classless...but game over we won the Big 8, celebrate.

I understand the hate for the horns. Obviously hindsight is 20/20, but OU's shooting % was unbelievably high, both 2's and 3's...it HAD to come down. I guess that is the "coach" in me, the odds of it continuing are really low. Just play the game, celebrate with teammates.
