I had high hopes for it, after seeing that Kevin Spacey was starring, and reading some decent reviews, but its been kinda disappointing.
From a critical standpoint, I'm sure you could say it is well acted (lots of talking). Well written: lots of snappy dialogue shoehorned into each scene. Slickly produced: lots of characters doing lots of talking. Well directed: people are very serious while talking....You get the idea.
Spacey is supposed to be a long time Dem Congressman from S. Carolina, so he adopts the standard southern drawl. He had been promised Sec/State by the Pres-elect, then gets shafted, and vows to fight dirty. The problem is, he doesn't really do anything interesting. The most dangerous thing he does is eat barbeque "across the tracks".
Yet I'm still watching, about 4 shows in.
