This ain't 1984, this is Judgement Day. When those things become sentient we're all screwed.

it's been known for awhile as well that police are now trained to handle major civil unrest...like military style. Honestly I just can't imagine a US police officer opening fire on civilians in the name of orders from the gov.....but sure people didn't think Kent State would happen either.

* for the record I prob would have a hard time handling the Vietnam protesters..burning the flag and such~

Missouri had a Pub wanting to introduce a bill about not allowing them...not sure where it went. Course Missouri also had 4 dem want to put forth a bill telling citizens to turn in their pistols, clips, etc...

This is one thing that I do not get my panties in a wad about. Someone explain why I should? I am not doing anything wrong, so why should I care if "they" are watching me? Hopefully they can prevent a bad guy sneaking up behind me from hurting me or catch him when he takes me crap.

Did no one learn anything from the Nazis? the Stalinist?

If your worried about someone stealing yer CRAP. Put in an alarm/monitor syestem of your own, If your worried about someone "Sneaking " up behind you, Become more aware of whats going on around YOU

First they came for the communists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist.

Then they came for the socialists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew.

Then they came for the Catholics,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Catholic.

Then they came for me,
and there was no one left to speak for me.

Okay. I got it. I wouldn't want them listening to my phone calls either, and that is the logical progression to the "observation for your own good" mentality.
I will try and be more passionate about it.

Wonder if I can buy my own lil helicopter, or perhaps a mini F-15, and use em to battle it out with the authorities for air supremacy over my own house?

Perhaps an entire squadron of mini F-15's?

Heh, I fly those things...well, just the RC planes although RC copters are a lot easier to fly now. Amazing what they have available just for recreational use.

You can buy the copters and real jets.

I've seen those jets on TV before - those things are bad! I'm just not sure I can afford one of em, a little on an entire squadron??

Depending on the size of the plane the jet engine alone would probably start out at about $3,000...the total plane about $6,000 minimum. Although there are prop planes that are very expensive, too, you could still get started with one and the necessary radio gear, etc... for under a grand.

I bought a prop job in 2000 and it set me back about 5 hunnerd. That included an electric starter, fuel pump and all the little odds and ends somebody just starting out would need. I really enjoyed building it. It's a trainer, has a 60" wing span. Kinda looks like a Cessna 172. I've only flown it a few times. The first flight, I think I lost about 3 pounds in sweat...Haven't crashed it yet.

Sounds about right. I flew a bunch in the 80's and then was out of it until 2007 (then out of it again until now). You can buy simulators for around $200 that really save on the destruction of your aircraft while learning or shaking off the rust (like I'm doing now).

They've got a lot of electrics out now called park flyers that are small ARFs. You can get those for around $100. In fact most things out now are ARFs and look pretty good. It is really amazing how far the hobby has advanced in the last 20 years.
