Stoops is finally doing something we all thought needed to be done for the last few years.

Gone is Shipp, Patton, and Kittle.

In is Bedenbaugh (getting finalized), but who will be the next DT coach?

I sure to hell it isnt someone with personal ties to Mike Stoops while he was at Arizona.

Bryant Young (DT coach at Florida) would be a pretty good hire. So would Thibs (Calvin Thibideaux).

Slow down. How many people said for years that if we could get Mike back all our problems would be over. It's all about players.

True.

I've always wondered why Kittle was brought in, but I thought Patton had done a pretty decent job. And Shipp just caught be by surprise.

Okay if anyone down there has heard any good rumors please share. It's not like I ever hear any good rumors here in southwest Kansas regarding OU football.

I remember reading on this forum after the A&M game that heads were going to roll. Many discounted that post. Bob. Showed leadership in making those changes.

He will show leadership by making the right hires who get the job done. Im okay with hiring buddies but they need to also be the most qualified to succeed.

Pretty sure somebody mentioned Mike Tuiasosopo as a possible replacement for Shipp on another thread. Not sure if that has any legs, though. He was the DL coach under Embree at CU...and of course somebody from Mike's staff at Arizona.

Sorry, guess I figured five ongoing threads with the exact same speculation, much of the same information and most of the same rumors was enough without starting yet another one.

I'm gonna close this one cause there's already too many on the topic. And for the record, not ALL fans think firing a bunch of coaches is a good thing. Kinda like when your boss leaves - yeah, he's an *******, but he's a known *******. Who ya gonna get to replace him?

And some of us fans still believe it ain't really a coaching thing. A recruiting thing? Sure. Let's keep outta the 5 star ghetto and go get some kids who wanna play ball for OU. Who believe beating Texas is better than sex. Who are smart enough to know the NFL will come calling if you're good enough not ones who couldn't give a **** about OU. That's what some of us fans think.
