Sure, the Fort Hood shooting is OK defined as "workplace violence".
Screw the victims!
But, it OK for Pantea to give gay couples military benefits.
Paneta says...To he11 with our heroes!

Maj. Nidal Hasan, an American-born Muslim, faces the death penalty if convicted of 13 counts of premeditated murder and 32 counts of attempted premeditated murder. The case is on hold as his lawyers fight the trial judge's order that Hasan either shave his beard, which violates Army rules, or be forcibly shaved before trial.

i still say this is retarded...

but anyway, "terror" or not, i don't get why anyone would be denied benefits here.

personally, i think it's dumb to throw "terrorism" and "weapon of mass destruction" around like people try to do

I think this is what they are talking about:

The soldiers injured or killed have not received certain benefits and are not eligible for the Purple Heart, because the defense secretary has not declared it a terrorist attack, said John Stone, a spokesman for U.S. Rep. John Carter. The Texas Republican has sponsored a bill that would make those provisions available for the Fort Hood victims.

Staff Sgt. Shawn Manning, who was shot six times that day, said his injuries prevented him from continuing to serve. But he won't receive the same benefits as those severely wounded on the battlefield because an Army medical evaluation board didn't deem his injuries to be combat-related, he said.

I think this is what they are talking about:

I am guessing the military is worried about this being a slippery slope sort of deal.

Not sure but I think they do get the same VA benefits as combat injuries and they do get lifetime treatment. I am a non combat injured DAV and I am unaware how my benefits are different. Maybe Vet can shed some light.

I dont know what in hell they talkin about, From what I know of the New VA rules , A vet gets at least 5 years Free medical after they get out.If they were injured or not.
If you are Service connected then you are covered at least for that injury and any probs developing from it

If they Cryin about NOT getttin a ****in Purple Heart they need to suck it up and Not worry about DooDads

Isnt the purple heart known in the military as the "enemy marksmanship badge"? Just saying that is what my friend always called it - he's in the army.

I don't think the military has much to do with it. If it was designated a terrorist attack, then Obama would have to admit to another terrorist attack on US soil.... That ain't happening.

I think this is what they are after.

Combat-Related Special Compensation (CRSC) is a benefit allowing certain career retirees to receive both retirement pay and payments for combat-related disabilities. The statute defining this program is Title 10 U.S. Code Section 1413a. The law is implemented in accordance with The Office of the Secretary of Defense (DOD) guidance. The CRSC Board of the Secretary of the Navy Council of Review Boards (SECNAV CORB) manages this program for the Secretary of the Navy.

I was thinking to myslef, And you actually think The Socialist wouldn't politicize this??? You are extremely naive...

i guess i don't see why their benefits are based on something as politicized as whether or not someone wants to call something an "act of terror"
