The fact that you mentioned stars means you are placing way too much merit in what some nerd scout thinks about a player. As long as they fit the measurables, I don't care what people say about them. 5 stars don't help you much when they're playing for East Transfer State or North Dismissed Tech.

Five stars since 2002 (as per Rivals)
2002: Pasha Jackson, Lance Mitchell
2004: Rhett Bomar, Chris Patterson, Adrian Peterson
2005: DeMarcus Granger, Ryan Reynolds
2006: Gerald McCoy
2007: Mike Reed
2008: Jermie Calhoun, Stephen Good, R.J. Washington
2011: Trey Metoyer, Brandon Williams
2012: Trey Metoyer (again, heh)

I imagine if I looked up UT's list of five stars I'd be saying "Who?" a lot.

Problem is you look up Alabama's 5 star list you'd be saying "WOW!!!" Can't lie... it is disheartening that the top schools today are the usual 7 SEC schools, USC, Ohio State, Michigan... but we're getting beat by UCLA, Clemson, Ole Miss, Auburn, and we're just barley ahead of Washington & Vandy????

I don't care how many stars they have. I only care that they have some talent, a lot of heart, and that they want to play for OU.

Ian Campbell of Cimarron, Kansas was a walk-on at KSU and he became the Big 12 Newcomer of the Year once upon a time.

The way some of these classes have worked out, I just want guys to stick around.
