My boss is English. This was our IM exchange this morning:

Me - So you have enough kings lying around that you can just bury them under parking lots?

Him - absolutely. Could do with burying a few more of them.
of course in 1485 it was a much smaller parking lot.

Me - hahahahahaha

Me - the local news here got just a FEW details wrong. they said it was Henry the Eleventh, and that he was found under some person's driveway

Him - Henry XI? Heaven forbid. Although Prince Harry would be Henry IX which is a lot of Henrys

Let's just say he's not a fan of Royals in general.

Did you check out his scoliosis? Holy Crap. Bet that felt really good in an age when travelling meant on horseback.

Royals in the British Isles had short happy(?) lives for the most part.
I traced my lineage back eleven generations on Mom's side. I have
a Scottish king, William of Stewart, in my lineage. He pissed off some
one "royally" 'cause he was murdered...stabbed, unceremoniously in a
royal takeover...never found who did it, so far as I know. Fast forward
300 hundred years and an ancestor fought and died in the Civil War, on
the side of the Confederacy. Not sure what all that means but I don't
trust anyone with knives and/or front loading muskets with attached
bayonets to this day.

That's a shame. I rather wish they'd abolish Parliament.
