I see the TV ads for Lincolns today and think wtf happened while I was gone. To get a ride in one of those big-assed cars, you got to get in a taxi in Chicago or something.

I would, but I forget how. It's a bad ol' ride though. It's exactly like this one:

http://www.beverlyhillscarclub.com/1956-lincoln-mark-ii--c-392.htm

Power seats, windows, wing windows, cruise, etc. 7,200 miles on it.

Know what's funny? The guy who started Lincoln Motors in 1917 named the car after ol' Abe cause he voted for him in 1864 and he was a fan. Stupid mother****er. I like their cars though (bought momma a 2013 MKX for Christmas this year).

I drive an MKT, but almost got the MKX. So far, it's been great.

7,200 miles on it? Is that on a rebuilt engine, or on the orginal. If original, how in the hell did you find it?

Original engine, original paint. Been kept in a climate controlled garage in Bellevue, Washington for 50-something years. Cost was about $9K - which was pretty damned steep back then. The coolest thing to me is the exhaust running down the inside of the car and going out the rear bumper. Bad part is the exhaust drooling all over the bumper...

The Mark II was a sweet model back in the day (very sporty for Lincoln). I am amazed you found one in that condition. Amazed.

Vet....you'd be better off planting flowers in your ole T-bird and going to an auction and finding one that's restored for the road IMO. Me and a few buds have been watching the old cars for the last couple of years. We all have our favorites and the way the market is...you can get a sweet deal on many of the cars that use to cost a fortune.
