Rumors abound that Norvell may join the Bears coaching staff...I will get a link posted when I get home.

This could be very bad...

Would he be considered our best recruiter?

On the occasional list you would see of so called "best recruiters", BV was the only staff member of ours that made it but I thought JN was probably our best now. And it's hard to argue with the success of our WR's. Hope he stays but they probably don't very often turn down the NFL.

I think so. There's something about the combination of his NFL experience and ability to communicate that makes him a "closer" on the road.

I've looked everywhere, and I can't find any mention of this rumor. I hope it's not true, that would be a big loss.

If Bob has to bring someone in, I hope he brings in someone from like Oregon or Baylor. They're recruiting well and I think OU could use a little tuneup to their offense with some insight to these spread offenses that actually run the ball well.

bring Mangino back!

Heard rumors on the radio that Mangino was spotted in Norman recently. He'd be hard to miss.

Norvell decided not to accept the job after getting the shats from eating and drinking at the House of Blues.

It would be a shame to let Norvell get away.

Well...alls well that ends well

Oklahoma co-offensive coordinator Jay Norvell was offered a position on the Chicago Bears' new coaching staff, but turned it down to stay in Norman, a source close to the situation told The Oklahoman.

Yeah, i just read a report from Jason Kersey of The Oklahoman saying Norvell turned down the offer. Good for him, GREAT for us!

The good news...is he's been in the NFL. Not that he won't want to go back, but he's had the taste, maybe it was bitter enough. Yes, there is pressure to succeed at OU, all kinds of rules to follow (ncaa) but there is the element of young men learning to mature..not SOOO business like. (yes I know it's big business but not as cut throat)

Jay turned down the job = The Bears didn't want him. I'm not on the "yea Jay" train. He might be a good recruiter but he can't get the WRs to play to their potential IMO.

Kids you can mold or Brandon Marshall, seems a pretty easy choice to me.
