Libs in general, not just posters.

1. They tend to be much less anal retentive and much more creative.

2. They created Social Security so old people in your family are less of a burden. On the other hand, they created Medicare so old people probably live longer than God had intended - so I guess it's a wash.

3. They created student loan programs so academically worthy students might be able to go to college. On the other hand, they created student loan programs encouraging academically un-worthy students to go to college and racking up too much debt. Another wash.

4. They were graciously thankful to the dysfunctional conservatives for making Jimmy Carter II a popular and now more powerful President. Thank you Ann Coulter. Thank you Rush Limbaugh. Thank you Laura Ingraham. Thank you Michael Savage. Thank you pub primary candidates. Thank you Grand Old Party. And most importantly, thanks to all the conservative posters and bloggers who wrote derogatory and insulting comments to alienate so many from conservatism.

5. Of course liberals aren't right about everything. ... they were wrong about recreational drugs being Ok. And too much promiscuous sex is a bad thing for most people. And too much union power is a bad thing. And free market capitalism is the best path to prosperity. Economic freedom is a necessary condition for political freedom. Peace is good but so is freedom.

Pretty much no one outside of Iowa thinks ethanol is a good idea. Yucca? I can't imagine why anyone would be against it except that they don't want radioactive waste transported through their state. As for fracking, even if we ignore the possibility of groundwater contamination from uncapped wells, which has happened and can't really be prevented, we do know that folks near wellheads are exposed to higher levels of carcinogens, that surface water is contaminated, and despite protocols to contain it, animals drink it and die. As far as research goes, in a world where corporate money can shut down discussion and research and industry and experts can stonewall investigations, often ascertaining the facts is hard. SUNY-Buffalo recognized this, and rather than letting themselves become an O&G shill, they shut down their school.

It amazes me that O&G won't be realistic at all about the costs to the environment. Let's have a real discussion where you admit that fracking is not a 100% harmless process and then we decide whether the costs of fracking outweigh the benefits. I believe they do.

Well you all made it five pages before the attacks got less silly and more personal, so I guess I will not bear down on you with Modador wrath... today.

New rule: From now on, before you post in any other Obamafest on any given day, you must FIRST report to this thread and be friendly. Your post can be a smiley, or a word, or something short and brief, but for one tiny moment each day, you MUST drop your partisan bickering and be nice. If Dr. Tom can be nice to Prez Bo, all of you can be friendly to each other briefly too.

And that goes for your liberal posters as well. Be nice to your conservative Sooners. When they be nice to you on this thread, I want you be appreciative. Say "thank you." Ask questions that start with "please." Disagree in a respectful manner, but DAMMIT, BE RESPECTFUL.

Now that we are all clear on how to proceed, don't turn this thread into a personal attacking space, or I will lock this ****ing thread and start over from page one

Well let's see. Obama and the dems support the mandatory inclusion of ethanol and Obama even touts it. Yucca was approved by 4 administrations and 13 congresses and was constructed to be the National repository for all of our nuclear waste including military waste. Now that waste is located at 104 nuclear sites around the country. And that nuclear waste could be further reduced by over 80% like france has been doing for years but Obama won't allow it. Obama's own energy secretary (when he was a SCIENTIST) along with 10 US science labs approved Yucca. The National Academy of Science approved Yucca for over 10,000 years as a safe repository.

Uncapped wells...where are they? Nobody is drilling these days and not capping wells. OK even has OERB going to abandoned sites and cleaning them up 50 years later at no expense to the land owner. As an author I posted stated, there are 1.5 million wells that support fracking being safe and your answer is there is a conspiracy by the O & G community to suppress the info. I am sure you latched onto the totally debunked "gasland" as proof of groundwater contamination even though it was proven to be naturally occurring methane gas that was already present in the groundwater. Plus the hypothesis for fracking contaminating ground water is absurd. It would require the migration of fracking fluids and oil/gas through thousands of feet of formations...some of which would be impervious to migration for contamination to occur. The only chance for contamination is from operator error... and with drilling requirements it would be extremely unlikely. Nothing is without risk but it certainly has been to shown to be safe and reliable. Oklahoma has over 60 years of fracking history to support its safety.

NG, in spite of Obama's attempts to obstruct it, reduced CO2 by 20% in Obama's 1st 4 years in office, which ironically greatly exceeded Obama's stated goal through cap and trade. Yet the lefty wacko's can't stand for anything that has to do with oil and/or gas to be credited for the reduction even if it helps them meet their goals.

Carcinogens? Like overhead power lines or cell phones? Idiots that would rather be shills for wacko enviros than accept proven technology are the losers. Nothing is without risks and I'll be happy to have a rational discussion about energy anytime with anyone. But to those that simply have an agenda with little or no factual basis to support their positions would make for a short conversation.

Probably.

But the fact is that the majority of Dems believe in books and science while the strong majority of Reps believe in myth and legend.

Yeah, and you thought you couldn't get to Cedar Lake from the Talimena Drive even tho it's your backyard.

You've been wrong before, but that's OK. I'm the 1st to admit I'm not perfect.

I do know where I stand on issues and I don't toe any Party's line.

I guess my friend Turd doesn't want to play well with others.

He wants to follow my posts on all threads giving me Neg Spek. 25 in one day? Someone has a problem.

Oh well, I guess all forums have a Board Jerk. I thought he was older but a 14 years old maturity level seems about right.

Sorry if I refuse to play that game Turd. Your boy Curly too. Feel free to grow up tho.
