Reid did what he was told, though. Thru this whole mess Reid has done absolutely zero. He's a wimp of the first class that gets told to go F himself, and slithers away.

Or Boehner got so personal and emotional (he does get emotional) with Reid that the Dems decided to bench Reid and let VPOTUS take over.

Biden saved the day. How d'ya like that?

The "no" pub voters is the kind of foolishness that got the Republicans in the hole to start with. If you can't make a deal with Democrats, then income taxes rise for most all. Tens of millions would pay ATM. Inheritance taxes would skyrocket. The House would be blamed for the fiasco; the House is controlled by Republicans. Therefore Republicans would be blamed for the fiasco. What part of this is hard for some pubs to understand?

Those who are manning the deathwatch for the Republican Party, one very interesting note: the Southern Republicans voted against the Senate measure 83-10, but in the northern tier Republicans in the House voted for the measure 24-1.

This board / thread is a microcosm of the almost purely visceral nature of U.S. politics at every level. Not much different than the rooting interest of fanatical football fans. When I think of the political parties I get a mental picture of Kansasa City Chief / Cleveland Browns fans enthusiastically rooting for their teams even though they are both sad excuses for football franchises. Why? Because they are "their guys". At least football is just a game that anybody can accept or reject.

Seriously how can anybody look at what the political process in this country has become and think people are anything but poorly served? How can you with good a good conscience support any of these charlatans?

Thanks to the two party system, we're forced to choose the lesser of two evils.

Our biggest problem is that thoughtful people don't run for office because Americans won't elect thoughtful people. The hard left wants socialists, the hard right wants theocrats and laissez-faire economy, screw the worker Chamber types. We let our most rabid partisans select who we'll send to the general election, then whine about how we're voting between a giant ****** and a turd sandwich.

I do think the Republican party is currently demonstrably worse in many of its members (especially in the South) who won't even come to the table to negotiate, let alone compromise or come up with common sense solutions to tough problems.

Congress is broken. Maybe it can't be fixed. What we really need is a third party to come in and blow things up.

He got reelected, not sure how? He is toast. I guess he found his manhood a little while in order to tell Reid to GFO.

They have decided to go red(blue, in the new parlance) and roll over, instead of standing up for the private sector and the constitution. Nov. 6 was an important day, indeed.

Yeah....it was one or two guys that did all of this.

This is better than Mel Gibson trying to figure out which Conspiracy they are trying to kill him for.
