This game is dull in ways I didn't expect. FSU looks lame. They've got that 55 lbs per man advantage up front and they're not even running. Bleh.

This has turned out to be a good game. I'm impressed with the NIU defense, especially their tackling.

This is one of those games where you expect FSU to pull away but the longer it goes the more you risk being in a battle at the end.

They're not trying? They should be playing smashmouth, and if they had been doing so from the start they would probably have NIU worn out by now. (This is how we blew it vs BSu, IMHO - failing to play to our obvious advantage. But let's not go there... :-/ )

WTF is wrong with FSU's play calling? These long passes are stupid! RUN THE DAMN BALL.

(And yes, I am enjoying all this complaining.)Regardless of Fischer's ability to recruit, I'm not altogether sure that he is as good a coach as he needs to be for the Crims to make the bigtime. he lost Mark stoops, and Muschamp is building up FU again. Remains to be seen whether the U is going to make a comeback. If they do, that should damage the recruiting for both the upstate schools.

I don't know why I am still watching, there has just been something strangely unsatisfying about this game: NIU was clearly outmatched (especially by FSU's defense), but FSU played sloppy and ugly on offense. The game was generally trashy and chippy. I don't see much for either team to proud of here. Plus I'm in a crappy mood because the holidays are over.

This is an example of big boy football vs little league. I took a peak at NIUs 2012 schedule, and it almost embarrassing, especially for a "BCS" team - loss to Iowa, close wins over 1 win Kansas and 2 win Army. The difference is the speed and size on the lines and at LB. NIU isn't even close, and it has shown all night.

I am impressed with the fight in NIU. They aren't playing a team on their level, but they haven't given up.

Maybe voters next year will remember this game when Toledo or UMass goes 12-1 and wins the Metro Atlantic Midwest City Conference and are on the bubble due to some stupid "everyone gets a shot" rule...
