I took this photo on Christmas Day and am getting a lot of interest on Facebook for prints. You may copy and paste it if you'd like to have on your computer at 72dpi.

It occurred to me that some of you a long way from Norman may want to make a large print as well. The photo is available at www.bishopcreek.zenfolio.com/christmas12 (http://www.bishopcreek.zenfolio.com/christmas12). You can order it from there if you like.

Why do they call it campus corner?

Because, long ago, there was a guy who used to stand there, selling corn to hungry students.

Nice. That may be the only time I've seen it without at least one person in the image.

They are great pics. They almost looked doctored up. Even if they were I like the idea of hanging one on the wall with campus corner, especially given my own history at campus corner and then the history of OU buildings and stadium in the background.

I love how all of the bright colors "pop".

Chuck,

I have no qualms saying there is some processing done on the photos, as there would have been in a dark room, back in the day. Digital is a pretty amazing medium and allows some images to be caressed so that they really stand out.

I'm pleased that I was able to recognize that there were no cars or people at 1pm at Campus Corner and I jumped out of my car in the wind and snapped the image.

It's an awesome photo. If I may ask, how did you process it? It looks like it was slightly, very slightly, 'cartoonized' (the borders look hyper clear, etc). If it was a print, I'd think it was done on aluminum, but that can't be it here.

Not 'cartoonized,' but a process called HDR, for high dynamic range. It's a very popular look amongst some; as a photographer myself I find much of it overdone. It's a great image above, but a bit too HDR-look for my taste.

Looking at the EXIF data on the images at his site, it's not true HDR, but a faux-HDR look. You're shooting with a Canon 5D, and you're shooting in sRGB space? And as JPEG? SMH.

CV got it.

I waffle between HDR-yes and HDR-no and this time I sort of compromised to get some detailing from the flat lighted landscape. Not a true HDR, but some of the techniques mimic it.

That is a nice pic.

I am not a big fan of HDR as it is badly (over)done in many cases, especially real estate pics. I got sick of looking at them when we were looking for houses this fall. HDR can make for some nice landscape shots since you tend to have a fair bit of contrast and "headroom" but when you are shooting a 12x15 room it just sucks.
