Awesome.

I was having an "argument" with my 13 year old son (who apparently knows everything there is to know about everything), and he said "I think Gerald McCoy is a bust". Keep in mind that he only pays attention to the Broncos, and we were recently having a conversation about NFL busts, so he really doesn't have a clue. I told him McCoy was an awesome DT, and that he shouldn't say such things about a Sooner...his response was "has he been in a Pro Bowl?". Being a moron, and "arguing" with a 13 year old, I said "He will be, this year!". Glad I'm covered.

Oh, and good for Gerald!

There was a certain poster around here several years ago who was a student at OU at the time. She acted like that and I remember telling her that I wished I was still in college so I could know everything.

Edit: I just checked and she's no longer registered here. Weird.

Gerald was in the middle of a radio interview when the rosters were announced. When the host told him, he got really emotional and was speechless. He then talked about following God's plan for his life and what a tremendous honor it is to receive the votes of his peers and the fans. It was really good stuff and I'm happy for him after his first two seasons ended with injuries.

His comments on Ronde Barber being named an alternate were also hilarious: "Ronde is 97 years old! That guy is amazing."

We live in Denver, and have season tickets. It's really hard to live here and not be a Bronco fan (as I found out when I moved here), and my son was born here, so it's all he knows.

Awww....Badger...you are living with in a fantasy world filled with false memories

The Bucs have beaten the Packers 4 of the last 6 times we met 02, 05, 08, and 09.

And when we were still dancing twice a year, we split the last four seasons -- 98, 99, 00, 01

So all in all, we have done pretty well against the Pack...I really do miss the Battle of the Bays!

There was an article on the Denver Post website yesterday about Jeremy Beal's status with the team after knee surgery.

Denver Post - Where are Broncos' Ty Warren, Jason Hunter and Jeremy Beal? (http://www.denverpost.com/broncos/ci_22264726/where-are-broncos-ty-warren-jason-hunter-and)

The Pat Bowlen/OU connection has been brought up after Mike Shanahan (former Sooner Offensive Assistant Coach in 1975) and Josh McDaniels were fired and him possibly going after Bob Stoops as Head Coach of the Broncos.

From the Pat Bowlen Wiki page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pat_Bowlen).

Bowlen attended the University of Oklahoma and earned degrees in business (1965) and law (1968).

I remember being 11 or so and saying the same about Billy Sims. My cousin set me straight. I really thought Sims was going to bust 80 yard runs every game like he did at OU. Didn't understand the difference between college and the NFL.

Yeeeeahhhh, it was a worst-case scenario yesterday --- AD didn't get the record AND the Packers lost :(

I am sure some Sooner fans who are also NFL fans can relate --- you want Sooner alums to do well, but what if that conflicts with your own NFL team doing well?

So basically, I was yelling at the Vikings every time they tried to gain yardage without giving AD the ball (especially when they were handing off to Toby Gerhart... COME ON! WHAT is the point?!)... and then getting doubly upset when they were successful with it.

Anyways, if the Packers can't win the Super Bowl, I hope a team with at least one Sooner does.

Trent Williams made a Pro Bowl? I guess you get a lot better when you've got a qb that's lightning quick back there. Either that or he quit taking plays off. Good for Trent.

But yes, I agree that it's easier to block for an RG3-type than a Rex Grossman type.

Oh? Then why is there a political football? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_football)Well, there is such a thing as punting, when it comes time to make political decisions.

It is a case of politics meddling into the world of football.

OK, I glanced at the link. Bottom line: the Packers are, if for no other reason, NOT a favored team by this Sooner fan, due to insufficient Sooner representation, esp. when compared with The Vikings, and our all-pro Sooner Running Back. GO FIGHTIN' AD's!!!

Crazy day in the NFL.

Is 7 a record for firings? It has to be close. I really didn't think some of the teams that fired their coaches would have pulled the trigger (KC, Philly and SD). I do think that every coach that got fired was deserving.

I'm honestly not sure why the Cowboys haven't let Garrett go. Seems like a team with a lot of talent that under-performs annually.

What is amazing is how many GM's were let go as well.

Dallas had a ton of injuries this year, starting in training camp. They were signing guys off practice squads and guys who hadn't played all year towards the end of the season. It was amazing that they even had a chance to win the division at the end of the season. It really doesn't matter who is coaching the Cowboys until the GM fires himself and gets a legitimate GM hired into the position.

The only one that surprised me was Lovie Smith. I can't believe KC hasn't the GM yet as their whole org is in disarray.

Dallas seems to still be dealing with the fallout from the collapse of their indoor training center. I wonder if that kind of had something to do with letting the GM go?
