It's a Wonderful Life and A Christmas Story go without saying.

What else will you watch if it happens to be on?

Not that they are high quality films, but I kinda enjoy Snow Globe and Holiday in Handcuffs.

When I was a kid, the family tradition was to watch White Christmas every Christmas Eve/Day. So, I've carried on that tradition, but my boys hate it. They end up playing on their phones before it's over, but I always hear them singing a song from the movie later. They don't realize it, but my evil plan has worked, and they'll be watching White Christmas with their kids someday.

Oh, and Elf. That became a Christmas movie tradition almost immediately.

Yeah, I caught the last parts of both of these a few days ago.

A Christmas Carol. The one with Alastair Sim.

Yes, this is indeed the best rendition of Dickens' work. As for the cheap and cheesy MTV movies, wife and I like one called The Road to Christmas. Jennifer Grey of Dirty Dancing fame is in it, but she's hard to recognize because of her nose job.

For newer movies I like Polar Express and Elf.

For middleaged movies its A Christmas Story.

Old school is It's a Wonderful Life.

I always liked Santa Claus with Dudley Moore, John Lithgow, and David Huddleston as Santa. Never caught it on the air this year.

Rambo: First Blood. There are Christmas decorations in the sheriff's office so it counts

Not a movie but an Xmas thing. How the Grinch Stole Christmas just for the Boris Karloff naration.

We watched Planes Trains and Automobiles (technically a Thanksgiving movie, but there's lots of holiday travel and family overtones, so it works). Then Christmas Vacation (anyone here still get a Christmas bonus at work?) and then, TV showed Grinch Stole Christmas (the old version, not the crappy Jim Carrey version) after the Heat/refs stole Thunder victory. How fitting.

my only bonus was being able to work for extra cash :D

Bad Santa - it really captures my holiday spirit.

My must-see Christmas movies are A Christmas Story, Christmas Vacation, and Die Hard. My daughter loves Elf and insists on that one. As far as the oldies go, I've never seen White Christmas or Miracle on 34th street *gasp* and I have to admit that someday I might have to do that. I never really enjoyed Its a Wonderful Life and will take a pass on that one every year.

LOL, my Christmas bonus is the fact that Christmas fell on my usual day off so instead of getting any time off, I just get some extra pay. It will be the same for New Year's. :(

Christmas Vacation, Scrooged, The Ref, Die Hard. The rest I can do without, generally.

Firstandgoal......I'm with you on the not caring for Wonderful Life. White Christmas is just a drama that I basically shrug at.

But Miracle on 34th Street is one of those perfectly cast movies that moves along real well. When it's over, I always feel good about watching it. I believe the old guy that played Santa won an Oscar. He was perfect, not over-the-top.

Always liked the movie Holiday Inn better than White Christmas. As you may know, the song "White Christmas" made its debut in Holiday Inn in 1942, and was a smash; it led to the movie White Christmas, which was made in 1954.
