659 is going to be difficult. He's been on pace the last few games to make 2000.

The thing that really sucks is that during this great run of games Minnesota has had to abandon the run early in the fourth quarter. The fact that he's put up these stats in 3/4ths os a game considering Peterson gays stronger in the fourth quarter is amazing

Seemed like SportsCenter dedicated half its air-time to AD this morning. Both his runs made the Top 10 plays list.

Some great comments concerning how hard-working he is in the weight-room (which we already knew from his time as a Sooner), and how popular he is with teammates because of his demeanor. I think it was Merril Hoge who said that there are 53 other guys in purple who want the record for him as much or more than AD does.

Is this comedy, because I am about to get reeled in, if it is.

His nickname is AD because his nickname is "All Day" Most of us laugh when national announcers call him AP. It has been AD since day one. Even before OU.

I still remember OU/Texas in '04. It was a 12-0 defensive game (boy do I miss those) played in a light constant rain. Texas punted OU back inside the 10 yeard line at LEAST three times that day. Peterson changed field position over and over and over that day with one of the most brilliant performances ever. He was a freshman and he gained 220+ yards against a defense that would win the national title the next year. Best live performance I have ever seen in any sport.

I keep telling them two years of getting beat up and you would take an opportunity to not get the sh*t knocked out of you too. If they would get him a line and someone not named Amendola who could get open and catch a ball, they would appreciate him a lot more.

AS for AD.....awesome! I was club level in gthe corner of the endzone he ran to. As soon as he broke the line of scrimmage you could see it was all over. They couldn't have caught him with a car. After the game he was the last to go through the tunnel. There were so many Vikings fans there after he threw his gloves to the crowd, he stopped and took his shoes off and chunked them up there as well. He was happy as could be.

This lists all the various reasons that rams fans hate him. Strangely enough, it reads like a thread on Landry Jones.

Having watched Sam more than those yahoos, his biggest issue is not having a tight end that he can dump the ball off too. The net effect is that he has to hold the ball longer waiting for either a back to clear the backfield or one of his sub-par WRs to get open. All of the "great" QBs they compare him too had some pretty decent tight ends when they were starting out.

St. Louis is not a football town. I've lived here for almost 5 years now, and if it's not baseball, you're better off not listening to what a St. Louis sports fan thinks. Things that you take for granted having either played or watched football for most of your life are complete unknowns in these parts. The best part of their sports scene when it comes to football is a guy who played DL for that Rams Super Bowl team, and he's fully on board with Bradford. He's Mike Golic, essentially, so you're not getting a great deal of in-depth analysis from him.

Also, the fact that they have to hold TEs in to help with protection really limits the number of looks they get in the passing game. Kendricks was brought in to be that safety valve for Bradford, but they can't rely on him as a blocker so they have to rotate, tipping their hand to the defense.

Now there's talk that Schottenheimer will get a look at Head Coach somewhere, which would mean a FOURTH OC and offense in four years. I don't know what he'd look like after another offseason of that.

That's amazing. They only have 7 guys drafted w/ longer tenure than Bradford. Hopefully Fisher will turn it around.

http://www.clanram.com/forums/f11/sam-bradford-truth-50386/

This lists all the various reasons that rams fans hate him. Strangely enough, it reads like a thread on Landry Jones.

Having watched Sam more than those yahoos, his biggest issue is not having a tight end that he can dump the ball off too. The net effect is that he has to hold the ball longer waiting for either a back to clear the backfield or one of his sub-par WRs to get open. All of the "great" QBs they compare him too had some pretty decent tight ends when they were starting out.

I don't think there were any QBs drafted the same year as Bradford that you'd trade Bradford for.

In the last two classes, there are a bunch:

RGIII
Luck
Wilson
Newton
Dalton
Kapernick

He could still be better than some or all of those guys.

Why do they call him AD?

AD was just on the local news in the twin cities. He donated 1812 toys to the Salvation Army for needy kids. He said that he would donate more as his yardage progresses. I wish there where more players like him on and off the field in the NFL. On a side note there have been some hints that if he breaks the record, he will be buying Rolex watches for his linemen.

Yep, the Vikings offense line didn't help Peterson this game. JJ Watt dominated Loadholt. It's going to be hard to repeat the 210 yard performance against GB.

Those were 86 effective yards that AD earned the hard way. They were crucial to the win and kept the Vikes in the playoff hunt. Forcing the Texans to overload against the run allowed the mediocre Ponder to have a big day. AD is so amazing, it's easy to forget that 86yds/game would add up to 1376 in a season which would rank pretty high among all backs. I think he will get his 102 next week against the Packers - hard to ever predict a 200+ game in the NFL.

B gaps are from the defensive side of the ball. And yes, they are between G and T.

I didn't watch the entire game. Just the second half. But everytime (but once) they ran the ball inside the 10, it was between the tackles.

But in the NFL, it does seem to be the norm. NFL is so incredibily unimagitive it isn't funny....when talking offense.

They had to go for the win the way they did, but I disagree that it was more important.

They will most likely lose their first playoff game and their season will be over. A footnote to football history. One of the last teams in, and most likely one of the first out.

Had AD broken the record it would be talked about for decades. It would be a great continual source of pride for AD, Minnesota, and Oklahoma.

But, back to me...I was hoping for a missed field goal, to push the game to OT...he would have gotten it for sure.

If AD would have been able to go for 100 yards last week, against the Texans, he would have broken the record today. So close.

Anyway, I'm not sure this is the last time he flirts with the record. Unless they have to cut his leg off, I think he wants to be remembered as the greatest to ever run in the NFL. I happen to think he'll prove it before it's all done.

As a player or coach your first goal is to win games. Nobody denies that.

I'm not so sure as a Vikings fan if you feel that way. In fact that was debated all week among Vikings fans. To put it into perspective, ask a Rams fan (of the few who are left from the LA team) to give his 10 Rams accomplishments they're most proud of.
