Navy's teams are known as the "Rams", but having a live one of those on the sidelines could be problematic. It's odd that the service academy teams are usually not called by their mascot names, i.e., Black Knights, Rams, Falcons.

I think they have a goat because back in the day when the ships were made of wood and the men were made of iron they took goats on longer trips to give fresh dairy and meat. Plus they would eat the scraps.

There could also be another use but I believe thats what cabin boys were for.

Aren't we supposed to play Army at West Point in a couple years? If so, I'll be there. After attending the OU game at Air Force in 2001, and another game in Annapolis, a trip to West Point is a must. The military schools are the allsome. Oh yeah, Go ARMY!!

i can't remember the year we play up at West Point - but they are on the schedule - but i agree about the trip up there

and as for the Army/Navy game itself

Philly puts on a MUCH better game day show than Wash DC did......at least based on the two games I attended - the difference was night and day
