When's the last time the Sooners didn't garner even one of these awards?

Cannot argue with any of the above, just seems odd that 10-2 and 8-1 in conference was accomplished without anyone coming to the top of the class.

Really? I was thinking Tavon Austin over Justin Brown.

Austin is a 1/2 a yard on KO returns better than Brennan Clay and a lot lower on punt returns than Brown.

got to put some guys from the 2 new teams at 7/5 to keep them happy....

yes Austin kicked OUR butts, and honestly I haven't seen his stats all yr but seems a LITTLE strange OU gets NONE...ah well, we did get a BIG 12 TROPHY!!! lol

Thank goodness for them, but Brown and Saunders surprise arrivals kept Shepard from winning freshman offensive player of the year. Having 578 receiving yards despite limited time and the ball being distributed to a lot of players is very impressive for a freshman.

definitely dissappointing to not have more guys make this list. But can't really think of any OU guy that was snubbed. None of our LBs on the list show just how much we need to improve there and on the DL.

I think it is wrong that Laundry Jones is not being recognized by his own conference at least making second team. I don't see geno smith even in the top 20 all time passing leaders. (he is currently #23).

For this season, Geno has 40 TDs and 6 INTs. Landry has 29 TDs and 10 INTs. Geno also has a 71% completion percentage versus Landry's 65.5% completion percentage. Passing yards are very similar though. Geno's overall TD to INT ratio and his 8 TD and 0 INT effort against Baylor won the deal here in the voters eyes. I guess I should add that in conference play, the stats were much, much closer. Geno has a few more TDs and a couple of less picks and Landry has a couple of hundred more passing yards.

Don't really have a problem...Geno's numbers were significantly better in just about every category, and lead the Big XII in efficiency. This season Geno was better. It's not his fault WV's defense sucked.

Here's a nice tidbit from the Big 12 site:

Oklahoma has won the most individual awards in the 17-year history of the Big 12 with 27. K-State and Texas are next with 23 winners, followed by Oklahoma State (15), Iowa State (8), Texas Tech (7), Baylor (6) and Kansas (6).

It just shows that we won as a team this year. It also shows we've had some failures in recruiting.

And as much as I've criticized the guy, Landry definitely deserves more recognition that honorable mention. The really carried us to those 10 wins this year. He worked behind a makeshift offensive line with little running game and 1 returning WR he had thrown a pass to in an actual game. The Landry bashing from last year and early this year have carried over and people aren't recognizing what he did for this team.

Most dropped passes while baj exclaims "STOP SMOKING WEED" at the TV: Kenny Stills

Most awesome shots of yelling at the refs/players during national broadcasts: "Stoops in Stereo" Bob and Mike Stoops

Participation ribbon: The University of Kansas Jayhawks football program.

Overachievement award for unexpected overachievement: Baylor

Underachievement award for unexpected underachievement: Texas

Best new Big 12 team, first half of season: West Virginia

Best new Big 12 team, second half of the season: TCU

- West Virginia's lack of defense and freefall from 5-0
- Kenny Stills' flag at the end of Notre Dame game
- Nearly losing to Kansas (Texas)
- The BCS taking Northern Illinois over OU
- Gundy fielding sh!tty SEC program job offers
- Trailing OSU nearly the entire game in Norman
- Having "We own Texas" chanted at your team as you lose to KSU once again (Texas)
- Having Savannah State on your non-conference home schedule and beating them by 80+ (OSU)

I think a case should be made that NickFlo should have been 2nd team....

Nick is #1 in Passing Yards
QB Rating is #5 (ahead of Landry)
Nick is #2 in Rushing (behind Klein)
#3 in TDs (behind Geno and Doege)

Nick has more yards, more TD's, and only 3 more INT's than Jones.

I thought we established earlier that the QB can't be blamed for a ****ty defense.

In two of our losses, we scored 63 and 50 points which should always be enough to win a game.

TCU wasn't close but the Iowa State game was. That brings us to 9 and possibly 10 wins if the defense had done its job from the start of the season.

NickFlo has never made an excuse about anything. Earlier in the thread, someone pointed out that that the QB shouldn't be held accountable for defensive mistakes. I said, that being the case, NickFlo should be the #2 since he beats out Landry in every statistical category except win total which is...as we've established....clearly the fault of the defense earlier in the season.

Nick hasn't made excuses about anything -- I did. 50 points and God knows 63 points should be more than enough to win a game.

Saddest part about Landry, really, is if we'd have beaten KSU and Notre Dame, we'd not only be playing for NC, but he'd have been the Heisman winner...or at least finish in second place.
