Yep, that's about as bad as I can ever remember. I may have to check out the Heart of Dallas bowl (haha, is that the real name?) to see how the Pokes do. It's be nice to see the Big XII have success.

It was the TicketCity Bowl in its first year, when Tech played Northwestern. Then it changed its name last year when it had Houston-Penn State. But now that the pokies are playing there, I guess it will have to be recognized as a bowl on the rise.



I think the participating schools get paid in DART tokens in lieu of cash and gifts.

It's easy to see why the lineup is full of puke. The Big Teneleventweleve is represented in all but one of the game and no one on this board is questioning the merit (or lack thereof) of that conference this year. Even the one that doesn't have a B1G school has a directional state university from the conference footprint.

In all seriousness, when the new playoff/bowl format was announced, I recall it being said that college football plans on "taking back New Year’s Day", aka move the big bowls from middle of week back to their traditional day, so we can only hope that better times are waiting.

It sounds nice to offer a BCS bowl to Northern Illinois, but the school will not be able to fulfill its obligation in ticket sales, and will lose money. Connecticut had to pay back BIG time, and Washington State did too. Northern Illinois only averages 18,000 fans for home games, do you think they will show up for a bowl? Who wants to play Texas A&M again, I thought we got rid of them.

The only thing I can say is that the Big XII got screwed out of BCS money, but at least OU doesn't have to spend a lot on air fare.
