I love this story. Costco founder Jim Sinegal made a big speech at the Dem Convention. Sacrifice from the wealthy and Obama economy is what we want...blah blah. But now, faced with higher taxes on dividends, good ole Jimmy boy and the Costco board voted to pay a big fat dividend before year end so that he would save $4 million in taxes. And to do this, he borrowed all of the money and got his company downgraded by rating agencies. So Jim, if it is really better for the US for 1%ers to pay more taxes, why aren't you? Pay your "fair share."

My ultra conservative (is that better or worse than right wing extremist?) view is that he is a liberal. Hypocrite in other words.

It's hard to be a wealthy liberal.

Must be a lot of guilt they carry around....guilt that they alleviate by arguing that others should do what they won't.

most of the very rich are all in bed together, it's us under 75K suckers that just keep pluggin along trying to make it work.
Honestly the $50 to $75K range is going to get the shaft. I honestly don't feel $75K and up are "middle class". I should say that is individual income, combine of wife/husband of $150K

The guilt must be emotionally overwhelming!

I think at this point in time, any individual making less than 125 or a family with a combined under 250 is going to be in deep doo-doo eventually.

Unfortunately that is most of us. :(
