The defense hasn't been as intense by in large but not bad, ORU has been willing to take it deep into the shot clock and work for good shots.

It was an extremely sloppy game on our behalf. We were missing shots that should have been gimmes and our defense was spotty. Our bigs were getting completely manhandled down low. Our offense looked completely lost. We were lucky to come away with a win in this one.

That said, it's early in the season and we are playing a lot of young guys right now. This was a road game and although maybe down a bit this year ORU usually fields a pretty solid team. I'm hopeful we will see substantial improvement before conference play, because if we don't, it could be another long year.

I'm happy to be sitting at 5-1 having only played one home game right now though.

Is this a type of team where we play to the level of our competition? Because I certainly had higher expectations after seeing so many starters replaced and hearing about our great recruits and it being Lon's second year and all.

One of the most frustrating this with the KS years was seeing us compete with EVERYBODY... both a good and bad thing. We are conning the UConners at home, but we are also scoring 30 total by the second half of some mid-major :(

I'm thinking we are overall more talented and the best talent is new (frosh, M'Baye) and they are still learning. I think by conference we'll be playing more consistent and better overall. I'm hoping it's the opposite of last year where we started out looking improved and then during conference season we were pretty gassed!

We will come around. It's still early. Starting 2 freshman and a new transfer player, they still have stuff to learn and chemistry together will only go up from here. Lon has us heading in the right direction. But it won't be an over night thing
