^^^this. they paid him to keep him after we bonked them from the Rose Bowl in 2002 (technically 2003) and they haven't been relevant since (although they came close in 2009, before their QB went down)

I said we bonked them from the rose bowl, as in, we took their spot. As traditionalists will never fail to remind college football, the rose is pac/b1g, not the others!

We took iowa's spot cuz of media lobbying to send iowa to the orange. Tee hee.
