Volleyball Faces Arizona State in NCAA First Round

The Sooners earned their fourth-straight ticket to the NCAA Tournament, never before done in the history of Oklahoma volleyball.

NORMAN, Okla. – The University of Oklahoma volleyball team (21-10, 10-6 in Big 12) faces Pac-12 member Arizona State (20-13, 9-11 Pac 12) in the opening round of the 2012 NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball Championship Friday evening in Provo, Utah at the Smith Fieldhouse.

No. 12 national seed Brigham Young (BYU) is the host, and faces New Mexico in the other opening round match Friday night. Saturday’s winner will advance to the Omaha Regional. A free webcast of all matches will be available at byucougars.com.

The Sooners won their first rounder on Friday night in a maximum 5 set match! Round 2 features 32 teams and OU plays #12 overall seed and host team BYU on Saturday at 8pm. The above link has various listings of where you can watch it live on the internet or TV.

Unfortunately they lost in straight sets to the much better BYU team on Saturday night.
