Just a reminder, so next week we won't have to hope Texas beats KSU to go to a BCS game.

Pac 12: Oregon, UCLA/Stanford
ACC: FSU/G Tech
SEC: Fla, Georgia/Bama
Big east Champ
ND
Big 12 Champ
Big 10 champ

That's 9, and the 10 spot will be either Clemson or us.

South Carolina currently up 20-17

Ok we are now a lock to be in a BCS game if we win next week.

I hope KSU wins so we don't go to the Fiesta. I'll be fine with being co-champ

I just don't want to go to the Fiesta or play LSU or Florida in the Sugar Bowl.

LSU will NOT be playing in a BCS bowl...Florida wins the second spot by default now...

It's Florida in the Sugar if KSU wins the conference.

Oregon in the Fiesta if we win the conference.

Actually with how shiiity LSU and Florida's offense is. We might stand a chance.

Now there defense is nothing to laugh about, but unless they get to LJ every down their pass D is not good.

Their pass rush is very good ... and that's where OU will have it's biggest concern ... pressure forcing Landry into bad throws and possible INTs.

I just don't like OU's chances against Oregon or LSU in a home game setting. Now, if I had to pick I would want Florida this year out of those 3 teams. Florida's offense has been down right awful this year. I could see Florida's D giving OU's O a lot of trouble. I'll take Florida over LSU in the Sugar Bowl. I'm sick of playing teams in their own backyard in bowl games.

Well, Clemson lost, so I want a traditional matchup with nebbish in rhe Rose Bowl.

Can't happen. That will be Stanford or UCLA vs nebraska.

stop mentioning LSU. They won't be in a BCS game.
Florida and Bama/Georgia winner will get the two SEC spots.

how pathetic. Looks like the Rose is set on big 10 pac 12.

That is one of the reasons Big 12 and SEC came with a championship game.

Could Kent State screw us over? They could be ranked ahead of the Big East champion if they win the MAC. I believe they also have to be in the top 16 in the BCS, so hopefully that won't happen. That would be a travesty for them to get a bid.

well, those are the conference champs. it's not like when they picked Illinois a few years ago...

I am still hoping Texas beats K. St because I want a outright Big 12 championship not a Big 12 co-championship with K. St having beat us head to head.

LOL, what would really be the travesty is that we squeak into a BCS game and have to PLAY Kent State.

Seriously, I want KSU to beat Uterus and go to the Fiesta.

now we have to watch out for kent st and boise. both suck in the computers but ****ing 2-loss boise is 15th in the coaches poll

Last I checked....still need to beat TCU!

As much as the Rose Bowl prides it's traditional matchup between B1G and Pac, I don't think they can deny the fans a more traditional matchup than OU-Nebrasky (much like the Cotton Bowl will be clamouring for a way for Texas to meet Aggie)

I don't think the Rose goes against their tradition unless the PC 12 winner is in the championship game. I don't think the situation that put OU in the Rose Bowl will happen again, another bowl taking their team away from them. I thought the selection procedures were modified after the Iowa-USC Orange Bowl.

they had to pick TCU to replace Oregon a while back

not losing a team though, i don't think they are going to go out of their way to change anything

No way. That would be awesome. Landry would ride off into the sunset 4-0 in bowl games with BCS wins over UConn and Kent St.!

How the heck can Kent State make it to a BCS game?

yeah, but losing tOSU was why we were there

it seems like they made changes after they picked Illinois in 2007

How the heck can Kent State make it to a BCS game?

they have to be ranked higher than an AQ conference champ, if Boise loses they could be ranked higher than the Big East champ

we could very likely be boned if we beat TCU and KState wins

I'm sure the team wants to win a Big XII championship more than anything else. Even if it means going back to the Fiesta Bowl. At the end of the day a conference championship is a much bigger accomplishment than a bowl game win...in a great way... no question.

Why are people talking about the Rose Bowl, they don't have a choice.

SoonerFanInAustin
11/25/2012, 08:23 PM
If K.St wins, we probably only have the Sugar Bowl as option and just as mentioned above, we have to watch out for Boise St and Kent St. There is a good chance they can get into the Top 16. We will know in about 10 minutes. Rose Bowl has to take Pac 12 and Big 10 Champs.

At-large teams ND, Fla, Oregon and us (if we win) or highest rated team from 2 mentioned above.

If K. St loses and win, it won't matter.

soonercastor

Kent state checking in at #17. We will probably need K State to lose. Don't want the Fiesta but at this point could be our last option.

I'll take either Fiesta or Sugar... it would be a tough matchup against Oregon's O but we've got a few weeks to get the D back in shape before the bowl. It's been done before. Our O would keep us in the game.

Florida would be a good matchup and a good location at the Sugar Bowl.

How the heck can Kent State make it to a BCS game?

There's a little-known provision in the BCS formula that allows a non- AQ conference school to get in if they are either ranked in the top 12 of the final BCS rankings OR ranked 16th of the final BCS rankings and ranked higher than a champion of a conference that has an annual automatic berth in one of the BCS bowls. Right now, IF they beat Northern Illinois for the MAC championship later this week, then chances are they would replace you guys in a BCS bowl. No way they replace Oregon, who is 11-1.

Lotta pundits think the gap between them and the next spot may be too large to jump even with MAC CG win. Plus N Illinois is pretty good too.

Yeah NIU is favored so that's good, they won't reach #16 if they win and all Kent St. will need if it loses is a UCLA loss.

Still shocked that Boise St is #15 in the computers.

The thing I dont get is why Florida would get the spot over UGA/Bama winner. UGA beat Florida. I guess I thought it would come down to how the loser performed in that game and that a division champ would be better than an also ran...

yermom
11/26/2012, 04:59 PM
UGA/Bama loser, you mean?

same thing happened to Mizzou in 2007. they will have an extra loss and lower BCS rank
