Today will be my 8 year old son's first OU game, and my first bedlam game. I can't wait to see his face when he enters the stadium and is overwhelmed by the sights and sounds (except the orange). Boomer!

8 years old, I was 3 or 4. To this day remember entering the dank bowels of the stadium with the smell of hot dogs and the yells of, "chair backs chair backs, get your game programs here!"

Then, walking up the ramp and into the light and fresh air of Owen Field. Good memories.

BTW, there was a man in a suit on the sidelines.;)

He will always remember his first OU game, and that he went with you. I hope you both have a great time.

Agreed! My grandpa took me to see OU play Pitt (some kid named Tony Dorsett got STUFFED by Sooner D). Grand-dad is long gone but that memory lives on.

Btw, great game Sooners! Hated to lose, but it was a thoroughly entertaining game.

Late getting back to this thread, but wow what a first game! His eyes entering the full stadium were the size of half dollars. Not sure who had more fun, him at his first game, or me watching his responses. Then there was the game, which was nuts. When we scored in overtime to win, we went nuts. Good times.

And just think, he'll be able to tell that story over, and over, and over to his poke co-workers until somewhere around 2080. Ah, that IS a happy thought.
