This is one I'm re-checking, but from what i see, the come from behind win Saturday was OUs first in 17 games that they trailed in the 4th quarter.

Could that be cause we hardly ever trail in the 4th?

I heard that too and it was Landry's first come from behind win (obviously).

this is since 2007..They have trailed 17 times since then in the 4th and managed to win 1.

Eh, he was down 17-0 against Nebraska in the Big 12 title game.

I recall 4Q trails (and wins) vs Tech in '06 and Mizzou in '07. So they must mean since that Mizzou game. Perhaps.

Doesn't make One of of Seventeen any better.

Come from behind win in the 4th, maybe, but Landry trailed Stanford at the half in the Sun Bowl.

I've read this elsewhere and that's what made Saturday so satisfying to me. The last few years it seem like we either have the game won in the 4th or we go out with a whimper. Tight games are inevitable and a good team has to find a way to win their fair share.

Have some more interesting numbers that involve OU

15 Teams passed the ball on 55% or more of their plays...13(87%) of those teams were .500 or below..and only 1 team won over 7 games..OU

25 teams threw 52% or more of their plays..Of those 25, 17(68%) were .500 or below and 3 (12%) won 7 or more games.

of the 19 teams that ran the ball 62% or more of their plays, 9(47%) won 9+ games, 6(32%) won 11+ games), 7(37%) had losing seasons.

Do you blame it more on the offensive coordinators, offensive line/OL coach, or running backs? I thought I heard that we practice the vast majority of the time on pass blocking. If this is true, you aren't giving them a chance to get better at the run.

It would be interesting to know what our pass % was the last few games and how it skewed the stats. We used to get a lot of running plays in to kill the clock once the contest was settled. Not any chance of that in the WWU, OSU and TCU games and not much in the Baylor game. Didn't LJ pass 71 times against OSU?

Seems to me (and I havent verified) that those who took this stat and made it important are cherry picking...does this include times when we were in the lead in the 4th our the other team merely scored last?

I'm not sure...The stat that bothered me was the half time stat when the game was 4 pts or less either way and we had a horrible record...at one point 3-9 since 2008.

The stat was for 4th qtr. come from behind wins. I think we were tied by the 4th in that one. We may have even caught up by half time.

Yea STEP, and my only point for asking is I wonder how many times our offense actually brought us back but our Def blew it? That would be an interesting stat to know

2 of those games(Texas Tech in 09 and osu in 11) were blowouts..No opportunity to tie or go ahead..But the rest of them, we either had small leads were or within reach and had opportunities..

from what I can tell, most of them were inability to score in the 4th quarter or big offensive quarters for the other team.

If OU is behind, it means OU is probably playing bad and a team usually does lose when they play bad. See how simple this all is? :devilish:

What about the stat that says Stoops has become complacent and lost control of his program?

That's more of a: I know it when I see it type deal. ;)

And for the record: While I know some peeps have said he's become compalcent, I've not seen anyone say he's lost control
