The Pokes have done it with smoke and mirrors this year. WVU could have very easily won the game with OSU, had it not been for a total mental lapse in special teams. Texas beat them, before Texas "heated up". I have seen nothing out of OSU that makes me think they will win. However, we clearly have some defensive issues, so in light of that:

If Chelf starts, take away the middle of the field and it's game over. He doesn't have the arm to stretch the hashmarks. He is a bit of a scrambler, and he's pretty good at avoiding sacks, so I'll give him that. But I'm not a fan of him. Randle is leading the Big 12 in rushing and is having a productive year. While not as good as last year, he's still a very good back.

We don't have a receiver that can really take over a game, but Josh Stewart is having a good year and is very reliable. When Blake Jackson catches the ball, he's averaging over 20 yards/catch and is an absolute load to bring down. Playcalling was very predictable earlier in the year, but here lately Monken has done a nice job of mixing things up.

Our defense has seemed to get better as the year has gone. Whether that be, because of opponents offenses or us actually improving, I don't know, but they have gotten better.

Gilbert is still very dangerous as a KR and is a threat anytime to take it to the house. I doubt that yall get any chances to return a kickoff as Quinn Sharp will probably make sure of that.

With all that said, I know how good OU is at home, and I know for damn well that your defense is going to look to redeem themselves after these last 2 weeks. I don't want any predictions showing up on OP.com where I would be labeled a hater, but with Chelf I'm not confident. I'll just leave it at that.

That wasn't really a knock on the Pokes. What I meant was that when your starting QB goes down, you usually feel some kind of negative effect. However, the Pokes have been working with the 2nd and 3rd string QBs, and somehow managed to win. Smoke & Mirrors.
