group of Armor lieutenants graduate from their Armor Officer Basic course Tuesday at Fort Benning - i'm headed there tomorrow to see my youngest graduate

18 months from the date of their original commission - its about 6 months after they arrive to their first duty station because of all the schools they get after their commission

nope, its a standard 18 months

battlefield promotions, etc - no longer exist - thats a "draft army" thing.....quite a bit different in an all volunteer army

they do have fast track promotions for specialties like doctors and nurses, etc - they pretty much go straight in as captains

Well done on your boys Jon. My second to youngest is at Ft. Hood right now fixin' to deploy to Afghanistan on December 23. He just made Spec 4 so he's happy.

Right now Im in that sweet spot
My Son went in the Invasion of Iraq, hes out and I dont have any Grandkids old enough to serve yet

Pretty Cool JK. My Cousin's Hubby was with us this weekend at my Uncle's Funeral. He's 20+ in and a lifer. He's done his last tour. Great guy who we are all very proud of. It's good to see some of our newest and finest. Thanks for sharing the pic. All the best to your Son and the other LTs.
