View Full Version : "You sir..."
This is a trend that I find goofy. Responding to anyone as "sir" immediately makes me visualize Foghorn Leghorn.

We have our students use "sir," "ma'am" and "coach" or the staff members name as a show of respect/part of good manners. But we also require our staff to model the behaviors and give respect to the students. Our parents support it.

I routinely address my students as "sir" or "ma'am" when they are raising their hands in class. It's not a school policy, just the right thing to do for me.
