I watched the entire speech. I liked him as an ideologue and congressman but was a little hesitant to think he was executive material....especially considering his age and strong beliefs. He did struggle at times to get through the speech.

I will miss him though.....and I hope we have some libertarian leaning folks in the legislature that can balance the majority of the authoritarian Ds/Rs and their “PEAK intervention” tendencies.

He was a contrarian even before it was popular to be one...in fact I think he is the one that can be credited for making it popular......or at least acceptable.

Well, I don't want to listen for 48 + minutes but if it's similar
to his campaign stuff, being an isolationist in this world environment
won't work, his spending cuts would tank the country. What's sobering
is he's gotta son in the Senate that is nuts like he is and ima bettin he'll
run in 2016.

HE IS NOT AN ISOLATIONIST! For the love of God, that ridiculous myth has got to end.

'K, SicEm, what is he? If you're gonna say non-interventionist, I would argue
for him to get to that, he HAS to be an isolationist first.

SicEm, I wouldn't argue with them. Those against Ron Paul aren't exactly intellectual superheroes you're dealing with. I'd sit back and enjoy it. The more they argue, the more f*ckdumb they spill all over the the place. This thread is already showing evidence of that.

Now, I'm not saying my opinion is better, but my opinion is better. The best argument, if we can call it that, against Ron Paul during the Republican primary was "he wouldn't do as good against Obama." Let's just throw out all the evidence saying otherwise and the fact the GOP could never debated his ideas because doing so would put theirs in an awful light. Massive spending? Unconstitutional wars? War on drugs? Civil liberties? Capitalism? HA!

Isolationist? Do you think before posting or do you just love herping and derping all over the place?
North Korea is an isolationist country.
Switzerland is non-interventionist as they don't get involved with foreign entanglements but are open economically. Ron Paul thinks it's better to trade money, not bullets, with other countries.
Does that make sense or do you need pictures drawn in crayons to help explain it better?

Spending cuts tanking the country? Ah yes, because excessive spending has turned out great, especially when the money comes from thin air. I didn't know Paul Krugman posted on here.
I would fire your accountant because he's giving you bad advice. When you're in debt, you don't take out massive loans to cover your increase in spending. I know, common sense, but obviously some people just are incapable of thinking in such a way.

As for his views being "nuts," Ron Paul's position is the side of free markets and individual liberty. It's the better argument morally, intellectually, philosophically, and politically. Now, if you need somebody to hold your hand, have mommy issues, and your balls have never dropped, I could see how the statist side of the argument could be appealing to you.

The thing is the founding fathers had a sack and wanted to think and do things for themselves. They had the views Ron Paul does. It's why they wrote the Constitution. It's a pretty cool document you should check out sometime.

TL;DR: Statist gonna state.

Ron Paul will be on the right side of history. As the Fed continues to monetize more and more of the debt of this country as well as the flagging equity markets it will become apparent that devaluation of our currency does not lead to prosperity. Those who didn't care to educate themselves about the economic issues afflicting this country will eventally wake up and ask themselves,"Why the hell didn't any one try to tell us what was going on?" when Ron Paul has been trying to do that for 20+ years.

And as the massive debt pyramid starts to crumble there will be only one thing the politicians can think of to try to pull the world out of the resulting depression.....the same way they did it in the 1930's. That's the reason neither major political party in this country will ever repudiate foreign intervention.....it dovetails so nicely with their deficit spending based economic policy.

from zerohedge:

Sorry Crazy Ron, but having U.S. army drones watching my every move makes me feel , I don't know,........important.

Besides, I want my Obama Phone in new freedom red. I'll take the phone-you can keep the liberty. After all, you can't watch porn on liberty. Good luck trying to argue against that accepted fact!

It's broken. The dems and their media run it, and will continue the downgrade at a faster pace. The elections process is under their control, and the laws are what the dems say they are.

Then go read it;
http://libertymaven.com/2012/11/16/ron-paul-farewell-liberty-maven-goodbye/12152/

It won't take 48 minutes.

I think they will still be quoting Ron Paul 200 years from now like they do Thomas Jefferson and Ben Franklin.
