I find it SOP that misinformation happens, a quote from an Applebee's franchise owner (in New York no less) is somehow made into being the CEO of Applebee's and completely misconstrued in the following commentary.

I only go to Applebee's if there isn't much of a choice. The last time we ate at one was when we were moving from Austin to Denver (with an overnight stop to see the family in OKC) in Hays, Kansas as we were a bit tired of fast food in the days of the move and looking for a little break in the big truck and the Kansas wind.
