All the freshmen looked extremely poised to me. Especially Hornbeak, he did a little bit of everything: 10 points, 5 boards, 5 assists and NO TURNOVERS. Great for a freshmen in his first real collegiate game.

Also I like Cousins but I'm not really sure why he starts over Grooms. Only reason I can think of is for scoring but he really didnt score much today. Grooms had 5 assists and 0 turnovers in only 14 minutes.

I agree with the Cousins/Grooms comment. Tubbs was talking about how Lon doesn't consider the 5 starters today "the" starting 5, and that he thinks there are about 10 guys that could be "starters", so maybe Lon will start Grooms against UTA.

I really was impressed with the freshmen too. Hornbeck is going to be a special player. All in all, I could definitely see improvement, and it's only the first game. I think this team will see the post season, hopefully the NCAAs.

I was very impressed with the freshman in this game. Hornbeak seemed to do well shooting the ball and getting to the bucket. And I think Buddy Hield has a great shot. They are gonna be some great players for us in the future and Kruger is going to keep bringing in the talent. I'm excited for the future of Sooner basketball!!
