There are any number of ways to spin it, but a win over Texas gets a +1 in the success column.
Unfortunately, Texas is the 3rd best team in the Big XII, which does not say much about the conference this year.

Lou Holtz had an interesting comment about the A&M/Bama game. He was talking about where Saban was in his career, but I think fans get the same way. He said it's time to go when there is no longer any joy in a victory, just relief. I'm not saying he knows that is what Saban is thinking these days, but lots of fans of elite teams sure get this way.

Our rivalry with the horns (and to a lesser degree the Pokes) keeps us grounded a bit. There is always joy in winning over those guys regardless of how good they are and I hope it stays that way.

Why don't people just come out and say it that they want Stoops gone and want a superstaff of Switzer, Saban, Meyer and Jimmy Johnson all rolled into one here? Stoops runs the OU program as good as anyone possibly can without the NCAA bending us over in the process. What we've got has been plenty good enough to win it all if we ever get past these nagging bad luck strikes at the worst times. I'd call our coaches excuse-makers if the day ever came that we heard after three-consecutive losses that we're a young team for the third year in a row.
