Tubberville is a complete moron. He obviously cracked under pressure. That loss could have cost him his job. I am not sure they are going to win enough games for him to save his job anyway.

I think this is being blown out of proportion. Tubby is from the SEC where stuff like this is no big deal

He didn't slap him, he yanked his head set off. He wanted him to listen. Nothing to see here, moving on.

In fact, Tuberville told Williams that he grabbed Oliver to remove him from the field of play. ""He was on the field, and I reached to grab him and pull him off. When I pulled, I missed his shirt and I grabbed his (headset).

Some people need a smack up side the head at times....way many more than actually receive one.

....at least he didn't put him in a dark shed.

What happened on the play to cause him to react that way? What was the scenario?

Guys, it's ok - the assistant's father doesn't work at ESPN. It's all going to be ok.

I'm sure Tubby is telling the truth, that he just tried to pull his assistant off the field, but that looked suspiciously like a slap to the head.

You are a cynic. I'm sure there is a reasonable explanation.:smiley_simmons:

If I was that kid I'd file assault charges. Because the video there would hold up.

Uh huh, and which McDonalds would you work at after your coaching career was over?

Meh, so you wouldn't be a GA under a *********. There's loads of other schools would take him as a GA. After a few years no one would even remember this. Except he'd be a hero in Lubbock for getting the A-hole canned.

Ain't that the damn truth. Unfortunately society frowns on that.

Burger King is really kicking some fast food a$$ right now and if he says he knows Landry was Whataburger Player of the Game today...he might find a place as the shake guy at WB. :D ;)

Why do coaches in Lubbock seem to go bat **** crazy? You ever lived in that god foresaken place? I did for 6 years. I know some of you are thinking right now that that explains a lot.

I was offered a pretty nice job there when I was younger. My first thought was that I would rather starve here than live there

They got a penalty for 12 men on the field and he pulled his headset off the assistant and it made his cap fly off and it looked like he popped on the head. Still was a little over the top.

Bull****. He meant to smack him in the head.

He clearly didn't try to "pull him off" the field (and the lie only makes him look worse), but it looks pretty clear he also wasn't trying to slap him. Looks like he was PO'd and grabbed the headset intentionally to yank it off. Still a BS move and uncalled for. But not nearly as bad as if he had actually slapped him, or even intended to do so.
