NORMAN — The University of Oklahoma and head coach Sunny Golloway unveiled the Sooners' 2013 baseball schedule consisting of 56 regular season games on Thursday.

The Sooners are seeking to make another run at the NCAA Men's College World Series in 2013 under Golloway's watch. Oklahoma posted a 42-25 mark last season and reached its third Super Regional in program history. OU is looking to make its sixth straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament and 36th overall appearance. The Sooners have reached the CWS on 10 previous occasions, winning national championships in 1951 and 1994.

Oklahoma's 2013 slate features 19 games against nine teams that reached the 2012 NCAA Tournament -- including College World Series participants UCLA and Arkansas.

"As we conclude our fall workouts and look toward our spring schedule and it's competitiveness, we recognize the strength of a demanding non-conference schedule with opponents like USC, UCLA, Notre Dame, Pepperdine, Oral Roberts, Dallas Baptist and Arkansas," said Golloway. "As our student-athletes, coaching staff and fan base recognize, you represent a great university by having a challenging schedule and look forward to it and embrace it as its prepares you to become a champion. We look forward to the spring and recognize the hard work in front of us in order to be able to compete at a high level."

The Sooners will host 31 games at L. Dale Mitchell Park in Norman, including Big 12 series with TCU, Kansas and Texas Tech and non-conference games with 2012 NCAA Tournament participants Dallas Baptist, New Mexico State, Pepperdine and Oral Roberts in addition to Arkansas Little Rock, Arkansas Pine Bluff, Hofstra, Northwestern State and New Orleans. OU will also serve as the host for the annual Bedlam Series against Oklahoma State, with game one set for May 10 in Tulsa at ONEOK Field and the final two games of the series slated for May 11 and 12 at the Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City.

The marquee road trip of the 2013 season will be to Los Angeles and historic Dodger Stadium as the Sooners take part in the Dodgertown Classic (March 8-10). The Sooners will play an exhibition game against the Korean National Team before battling UCLA and Notre Dame. OU will also visit Corpus Christi, Texas, and Whataburger Field -- home of the Corpus Christi Hooks, Double-A affiliate of the Houston Astros -- to battle Iowa, New Mexico and host Texas A&M Corpus Christi.

OU is also slated for Big 12 road series against Texas, Baylor, West Virginia and Kansas State. Non-conference road matchups include USC, Oral Roberts, Arkansas and Dallas Baptist.

For the ninth consecutive year, the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship will be held in Oklahoma City at the Bricktown Ballpark from Wednesday, May 22 through Sunday, May 26.

The NCAA Tournament begins on campus sites with the NCAA Regional (May 31-June 3) and NCAA Super Regional (June 7-10). The 2013 College World Series gets underway at TD AMERITRADE Park for the second straight season in Omaha, Nebraska, on June 15-26.

Fans can get their first look at the 2013 OU squad as the program hosts its annual Red-White Series this week. The best-of-five series opens Thursday, Nov. 1 at L. Dale Mitchell Park at 2:30 p.m. Game two is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 3, at 2:30 p.m., game three is set for Sunday, Nov. 4, at 1 p.m., game four on Tuesday, Nov. 6, at 2:30 p.m. and game five is slated for Thursday, Nov. 8, at 2:30 p.m. The Red/White Series is open to the public and admission is free.

MUCH better home schedule this year than last. Will be interesting having Gary Ward in Norman again. Yardbirds ought to have some fun with that. Overall, good schedule. Tough enough to help us with RPI if it becomes an issue late in the season. Well done.

Season and home opener in two weeks vs. Hofstra. I'm very excited to get the season started.

Did anyone out there attend the Diamond Dinner? I was planning to attend but a family emergency kept me from it. What did Coach Golloway say about the coming season; conference competition; expectations from newbies and returnees. And what was said about Max White, specifically as to why he didn't see any action in the fall Red & White series?

I don't think the home schedule is that great. The Big 12 series suck. However, yes, does anyone know what the deal with Max White was in the Fall? There was an article on the Diamond Dinner on Soonersports.com and SG speaks highly of the team. He talks about getting to the CWS, but he does that every year so it is hard to tell what the real expectations are. We return two of our weekend starters, but the key will be if we can hit better than we did last season. Can't wait to get it started.
