Big 12 Womens soccer tournament

The regular season is over and the 8 (of 9) team Big 12 tourney is set to begin on Oct. 31st in San Antonio. I don't know what happened to OSU. They are always one of the top teams and they were projected to finish 1st in the conference but finished 7th (?) with a record of 1-4-3. OU finished 5th at 3-3-2 (which is great for them) and 7-8-4 overall. Yes, there are a lot of ties in soccer. OU plays Texas in round 1 on Wednesday at 11:30am. OU will (99%+) have to win the Big 12 tourney or they won't make it to the NCAA 64 team tournament.

I don't want to get into specifics but team chemistry wasn't there. The seniors fought a lot with the freshman and the defense hated AD behind them. The forward freshmen refused to give the ball up and there wasn't any leadership to trump it this year.

Unfortunately OU's season comes to an end losing to Texas 3-0. See above for the rest of the days schedule and you should be able to watch it for free at the above Big 12 link.

The Sooners would have played the winner of the 1 vs. 8 matchup which turned out to be an upset as #8 seed TCU beat #1 seed W. Va. But now #4 seed Texas gets that honor in one Semis matchup. #2 seed Baylor(who beat #7 seed OSU tonight) plays #3 seed Texas Tech in the other semi finals on Friday.

Finals score in San Antonio, #2 seed Baylor 4, #8 seed TCU 1. Baylor wins the Big 12 postseason Womens soccer championship and wins an automatic NCAA bid. The 64 team NCAA tournament will be announced on Monday at 3:30pm.
