NORMAN - Oklahoma defensive tackle Stacy McGee has been reinstated for Saturday’s Top 10 showdown against Notre Dame, coach Bob Stoops announced during his Monday news conference.


McGee, a Muskogee High School graduate, was indefinitely suspended from the team on Aug. 17 for breaking university policy.

I like Bob's comment that McGee has been facing a better O-line than normal since he has been on the scout team during the suspension.

McGee has never been a real disruptive force, but it can't hurt to have some extra experience and depth out there.

75, sorry to be late getting back. I was watching the press conference and heard him say it. He sounded pretty upbeat, including noting that McGee had actually had harder practices than the 'Ones' since he was on the scout team and going against the OLine 'Ones' all the time.

When I was redshirted, I did nothing but scout team. Trust me, when you know you can't play, then scout team is your game days....lol

He will be just fine. Probably take a series or two to get reacquianted with the speed of the game, but he'll be fine.


As far as whomever said something about me not being very disruptive. I agree. But he will definitely allow King to go back to being a DE full time now!

Good to have him back on the line... will make a difference in getting the D-line rotated and rested between possessions.
