"The meeting between the 10th-ranked Sooners and fifth-ranked Fighting Irish is the first meeting between the college football powers since 1966."

was in the paper...Norman Transcript...I thought we played in 1999...? maybe the first meeting IN NORMAN?

I'm quite sure they meant in Norman. However, this is the Transcribble, and they are not known for having their facts oriented toward the truth at all times.

One of the worst newspapers in the world. I'm firmly convinced they don't actually have any editors.

Do I read that right? We were ranked 2nd at the end of a 47 game win streak? Amazing.

Yeah...if the major papers can't even post one paper and get everything right....the TN probably could work a bit harder to get one of the largest stories to come to Norman right. I have lost faith in journalism though.

Who's to say the teams stay at that ranking? ND faces a tough BYU team and we face....well....a basketball team so yeah. Things can change in a week.

Do I read that right? We were ranked 2nd at the end of a 47 game win streak? Amazing.I think we had lost a lot to graduation, including Jimmy Harris, Tommy McDonald, Jerry Tubbs, Billy Pricer, Burris and Boydston, and others. I'm not sure about Boydston and Burris

That actually happened a few times while the streak was going on. OU actually dropped as low as 5th once, early in the 1955 season, and they dropped to 2 or 3 several times after that in the middle of the next two seasons. I guess "east coast bias" is nothing new.

The Transcript is a joke. Norman would be better serviced with just the Norman section of the Oklahoman.
